Carphone Warehouse, Currys and PC World are all the same company selling the same phone at the same price, not sure I see this as a new deal really

Is it worth the effort for £15?
I am tempted - but there are annoying ongoing issues, if you're not using Bluetooth headphones, the supplied adapter doesn't work reliably.

Exactly and I called him out for it, which is what people should do. I believe this forum works best when people try and give a balanced informed opinion >

Argh, so tempting but can't justify upgrading!

Yes the dongle issue is very hit and miss to be honest. It sounds alright when it decides to work
I honestly don't know why anyone spending time on money saving site like this would be willing to pay £500 for a phone. your'e all mad.

I am very happy with my 18m old Xiaomi redmi note 3, cost £120, but my wife dropped hers, therefore looking at what is out there. I have been watching YouTube comparisons with pixel 2 Vs iPhone X. They both take great photos, and the iPhone has amazing zoom...but the HDR+ and image stabilization for video for the pixel 2 are something else. The pixel 2 is a technology breakthrough due to the computational processing. Add in online full resolution photo / video storage for 3 years which is a useful service. Water resistant, battery likely good for 3+ years. I think this is for me...

thats all well and good but i would never pay more than £200 for a phone.. and even thats a stretch... i personally just stay 1 stage behind phones... i have a samsung s7 edge which i bought second hand off ebay last year for £180... and as soon as pixel 3 comes out.. you know pixel 2 will drop to £250! last years gen of phones are not that far off this gen... sorry to sound like a killjoy but personally i think staying 1 gen behind phones to get them for a reasonable price is just the way to go. i mean current gen phones you can buy a decent computer for , a decent laptop for, a 2005 car for!! its ridiculous!

lol. no but you can on an under £50 phone or tablet... my point was that for the over £800 costs of current gen phone you can buy a half decent car. it was meant to put it into perspective.

Fact is a sub £200 phone will do the exact same thing as a plus £500 one... i cannot fathom why anyone would pay that for a phone.. also you can buy an oculus rift and a graphics card vr capable for under £500. why anyone would spend that much on phone gahhhhh!

FYI, for those on Quidco and Amex you can get this phone to work out slightly cheaper @£470/475.

Quidco £10 cashback for SIM free phone at CPW

Amex 3% cashback offer, plus 1% if you have the platinum cashback card

😁

Maybe because some of us are able to spend a lot but still like to find a deal for an item in question? If I'm looking for a Pixel and I've decided this is the phone I want, if I can make a saving on that product then so be it. Maybe I don't care if Phone A exists and it costs £250

Too many people on this site seem to have this urge to try and crap on products/users that are willing to spend above their own payment threshold. Nothing wrong with someone who's willing to buy a £800 TV for example wanting to see if they can get it for £700 instead.

I wouldn't personally spend £1000 on an iPhone X but if someone only wants an iPhone X and they can come to HUKD and find it for £900 then I don't really see the issue. Move on
£529 now

You may only use your phone for calls texts and the odd WhatsApp therefore even a 150 quid phone would suffice, but if you're a heavy user, want good camera, use apps, and browse regularly it's the price you pay, no one's saying to then go upgrade annually, that would be madness .. I've used Samsung OnePlus Apple now a Pixel XL 128gb I got for £400 open boxed just after the Pixel 2 was released. Does everything I need and a bargain for the next 2-3 years, still not possible for a phone at your price range.
