Rubbish screen,

no displayport alternate mode, cannot be connected directly to TV or monitor,

Oh my God, get a life, join a Yoga class or buy a YoYo

no micro SD ,

This is a good thing as the SD on smartphones are notoriously sloooooooow.

nowireless charging ,

Just get the thing and stick it in, I mean we are not trying to send man to Mars here.

no waterproofing

Oh, for Gods sake, leave it in the changing rooms, BEFORE you swim. Don't forget your flip flops though........ athletes foot, verrucas....

I was in CPW last week playing with one of these... tempted even at £629 and thought to myself.. wait until January, there may be January sales blah blah... then the other day Google reduced to £579.. tempted again... but at £529 I might have to bite.
But do I deserve it Santa? I have been a reasonably good boy all year.. and my Nexus 5X is two years old after all...
It's the lack of headphone jack that turns me away been a pure android fan ever since I had a Nexus 4!

Smartphone of the year in my book.
and yes, if anyone asks I have paid my £50 lost 'bet' to Macmillans cancer charity.

£529 minus £30 Mini sold on eBay, so Pixel 2 sub £500 pure android, fantastic camara, unlimited photo storage etc etc etc. we could be here all night.

Back to reality.

This is a great deal, as long as CPWHouse offer 24 month Warranty, not sure on that.

If it was £499, without Mini, AND 24 Month Warranty, I'd be all over this like curry sauce (Hot) with fish, chips and mushy peas.

Dear God...
I wish the pixel didn't feel like such an afterthought compared to the XL.
What's the big deal about bezels? I know phones that have edge to edge screens look great, there's no denying that. But, I'd prefer a little real estate on the sides, just to prevent my hand activating stuff on the screen, especially when I'm operating it one handed.

I’m really tempted, but don’t know if I should wait till Boxing Day? They might reduce it further. This is still a great deal.

They mean the massive top and bottom bezels not the sides!
I upgraded my Sony XZ to Oreo, well that was a mistake! Sony decided to still not include the Night Light feature to remove blue light from the screen. No problem I'll keep using Twilight which just puts a red layer on the screen, BUT! apps now can't draw over the system UI so that means the nav bar and the notifications are not filtered, which is terrible and means the notifications blind you at night. I hate this so I'm now thinking of getting a Pixel just so I have a properly working phone. Damn you Google!

Have you tried "Blue Light", I'm no expert on this but it works for me.

Btbf it is a great phone and as soon as it is £499 will be even greater...

With the oneplus 8 -4 +1 at sub £450, still a toss up between the 2 as to which is
the true flagship of 2017!

I haven't but this is an OS issue, so unless they have some novel not root fix I'm not sure it will work. I'll test it. OK as I thought it doesn't work because simply NO apps can draw over the system UI on Oreo, and I don't have Night light built in to the Oreo OS on my phone because Sony decided not to include it.

I’m fairly sure it’s waterproofed. The rest of it, fair enough. Though who actually plugs their phone into the TV? I thought this would be a cool feature years ago and have never ever done it.

If they had the fingerprint sensor there I would say it is a fair trade, having used my S8 for a while. I find it a right pain being on the back.

Not at all, just stick it in (FREE), buy a YoYo (99P), and leave smartphone in changing room (FREE).

Total cost: 99p for said YoYO from Poundland.
Got this phone yesterday.

Best phone I've ever had.

Its just so smart and the camera is ridiculously good.

Personally I'd avoid OnePlus due to their recent Spying bombshell.
Does this phone lock itself to first sim inserted or is it fully unlocked?

I've seen the Oneplus in person and I was also tempted. I'm very VERY tempted to go and get this tomorrow now. Here is the list of pros and cons of the Pixel 2 over the Oneplus 5T that I drew up:

-Pros:-

Fast updates for three years

100% stock Android straight from Google. Always get the latest features quickly.

Stonking camera. Probably the best camera on any smartphone at the minute, and that's without considering that Android 8.1 has activated the new image chip in the Pixel 2, which was otherwise dormant. The Oneplus 5T supposedly has an OK camera but that seems to be about it.

Good customer support from Google in the event of any issues; Oneplus are a bit crap in this regard in my experience and apparently that of others on here

Unlimited Google storage

Loud stereo speakers

Pocketable form factor

The smoothest and fastest version of Android available

Waterproof

-Cons:-

Far worse screen to body ratio than Oneplus 5T

No headphone jack like the Oneplus 5T

£79 more expensive for the base model

Not quite as slick and stylish to look at

Very tempted, would I be able to try it out and send it back if I decide against it? Unsure of the returns policy on mobiles.
Gash, bought one a couple weeks ago from them for £580
