Cheapest you'll find this handset if you want to avoid buying it outright, this is more aimed at those of you with a decent existing SIMO deal.

You'll get a free useless Vodafone SIM for your troubles that gives you 500 mins 500MB data Unlimited texts too.

Found via Uswitch on Mobles.co.uk, use code ‘Edenred15’ for £15 off the upfront cost.

Tempted. If only there was a good deal on pixel 2 XL where it's cheaper to get on contract rather than buying outright. Heat.

The standard phone is better than the XL in many ways, and not exactly small.

I was looking on their site and didn't find the answer.

It's made by HTC and doesn't have anywhere near as many faulty screen issues.
I would wait for Pixel3,much better.

What's the spec?. I didn't think it would be released till September, October 2018?
Got excited, then realised the sim I want is costing £11/m so the cost for a year is still more than just getting the contract. Bah!

arrgh.

the SIM i have is 1 month terms £10 pm for 6GB data and calls and texts, with Plusnet. So flexibile i would hate to have to leave it and move to a two year 4GB plan.
Wouldn't the SIM be automatically activated though? I thought that's what happens with contract SIMs. Or is it only activated if you insert it in the phone?

But the bezel is horrid. That's putting me off getting it despite this being a great deal.

8gb on ee is £30/m, this phone costs the equivalent of just over £20/m if assuming 24 months. Very tempted to get the contract, if nothing else it makes the handset interest free.

+1 to the interest free. That's how I see it.

I don't understand this problem people have with bezels, am I missing something?

I have an HTC U11, which has bezels, but is totally brilliant.

A few of my colleagues have S8's, and whilst they have smaller bezels, my HTC outperforms them in virtually every way (audio, battery life, OS updates etc.), and has the fingerprint reader in the right place.

I understand that smaller bezels are a nice touch, but it's crazy to prioritise them and end up with a phone with other issues as a result.

Rather than pay for the phone outright you pay in small instalments of £30/month, and at the end you've not really paid any extra. All depends on what SIM you are using on what the final price will be, but if it's £10/m or over then unless it's a much better deal in terms of data it's not really worth it.

The reason I kept getting rid of Samsungs last year was the crazy small bezels and the dodgy placement of the fingerprint scanner. It just made for an unpleasant user experience for me.

I think the iPhone X and LG V30 bezels are just about right - not crazy for the sake of aesthetics and a good balance. I don't mind bezels of any size really though - for me it's the feel-in-hand and usability rather than mathematical analysis of how much potential screen I've lost for the sake of bezel.
Anyone know if it's unlocked?

I'd call it cheap credit. You are going to get a 3% boost to your payment at the end of the month and then another inflation linked rise next year.

But on the flipside you're stuck with a two year contract liable to price increases and what will be a very old phone this time next year.

Whichever way you buy it you're in that situation, unless you just buy it outright. Personally I just got a week at a 5* all inclusive in Kos for June for less than the handset retail, which I think I'd rather do.

Bezel bore alert!
Remember a few years ago what it was like buying phones. All phones had bezels and all we ever complained about was the bezels. Battery life? Memory? Poor camera? Poor screen? No, it was all about wanting rid of bezels, all I ever heard people talking about. It was just non-stop.

Or maybe not

I wish they'd done the same push on battery life, I'd LOVE bigger bezels if that meant having a bigger battery.
isnt the bezel for the great sound speakers anyway?
