Great price for a pixel 2, battery life would be my only worry
Bought this phone on release in 2017 for £480.

This is absolute bargain. Camera is still one of the best for straight shots, phone still supported with Android 10 on release. Given to my mother now but £100 is a bargain even for good condition.
Only EE locked at that price? Still seems a good deal... I'm wondering if it's worth upgrading to this from a Pixel 1, or waiting till I can get a 3 or 3a cheap

I'd go 3 if it were me.

Yeah - I'm worried I'll upgrade and then wonder what the difference is... Hopefully prices will drop a good bit more before my Pixel 1 dies!

If it doesn't hold well, send it back for a replacement, like OP suggests, free returns OR

...send it to Google directly to replace battery, excellent warranty, chunk of original warranty will be left in most cases

Unlikely to be disappointed with combo MM/Google

XZ Premium for £84.99
EE only network to lock pixel 2s. Please note you can have problems unlocking these. I bought one from last magpie offer had to return it. Contacted EE paid 8.99 to unlock , couldn't do it. Even Google couldn't do it , had to return it in the end. Shame really good phones....

It was released Oct'17, high chance some is left in many cases

Personally my choice is 3a battery is a lot better. But no wide front camera, no free original quality storage, and no IP rating

Better screen too, wireless charging, Visual Core chip, better premium build, that said 3a line is NOW an excellent buy, prices very competitive, not much in mid-range can match it

I'll second this. I've had 2 EE pixel 2s from music magpie. Neither could be unlocked by EE as not out of contract. Technically EE still own the phone, MM should not be selling them really.

Difference is this was out of contracts eevdid unlock it but the phone never took the update. There is an issue which affects some pixel 2s resulting in not being able to be unlocked. Even Google couldn't unlock it.

I think the moral of both stories is, never buy a pixel locked to EE, unless you want to use it only on EE

Battery life is a disaster. I have a Pixel 2, it's 2 years old now the 2700mAh battery now has 1900mAh capacity left and it's had terrible battery life from the start, now it's horrendous and it's not an easy job to change the battery.

BUT if you can live with it or get one where the battery hasn't been battered then the Pixel 2 takes some damn fine photos.

Hey Switchy! What does Expert (Beta) mean? You're beta testing being an expert? How does that work and what bugs are there?

How easy is it to unlock Pixel with EE? Incredible Value for the money if condition is good can just be a spare to take pics on holidays haha

OK bud, all the best 🎄
I thought that the phones were meant to automatically unlock after 2 years by Google update. I would argue with Google that if this does not work that the phone is and always has been faulty and get Google to sort it.
Do we still update for this phone? If yes until when?

Late next year
Got the pixel 2 delivered today, some pretty deep scratches on the screen but nothing a screen protector can't hide. More concerning is the battery life whereby it literally drained 15% in 10 mins of usage. May have to send it back if I can't get a replacement from MM. Unfortunately the warranty has expired in Oct'19 as well so the phone may actually be unlocked already as it says on EE website Google phones unlock automatically on day 721
