This is a great deal.

The Pixel 2 XL has only recently been released and is selling for £799 and £899 for the 64GB and 128GB respectively on Google!

Regular Pixel 2's are also discounted too.

How does google get a pass for following Apple pricing? This is Google’s 2 …How does google get a pass for following Apple pricing? This is Google’s 2nd phone and shouldn’t command the same price as the iPhone which has had market penetration for over 9yrs. At least with Apple you get fantastic customer service, online or instore and the resale values remain high. This doesn’t mean I agree with Apples recent price gouging with the 8, 8+ and X. The X is a ridiculous amount of money for what is a disappointing anniversary product. It’s more like a fragile piece of jewellery than a everyday computing device.

I can't see the point of your argument.

Firstly it is not Google's second phone as the Nexus one was released nearly 8 years ago, although I still don't understand why this should be used as criteria why brand X is entitled to charge more than brand Y. Google's customer service in my experience has been faultless and very quick, plus I don't have to book a seance with a guru.

Apple have been charging ridiculous prices for their products for nearly a decade and if people are willing to buy them then all well and good.
Likewise if Google now want a piece of that action and people are willing to buy them then that too is fine.

At the end of the day any item is only worth what someone is willing to pay and my original post was to point out that a generous discount on an item that many people were going to buy anyway should be judged as such and not a critique of your view of a product or your brand loyalty.

So let's refrain from all this childish Apple/brand X/Y/Z is superior rubbish that infests many forums and boards around the internet and get back to appreciating a good deal when one is posted.

Yeah, spotted that and deleted my comment.

A saving is a saving so heated deal. Feel that Google are in need of slashing the price further to counter the negative launch and continuing issues. Also the competition is strong at lower prices. I appreciate the Pixsel is considered the “iPhone” of the Android world but the price is too damn high.

Worst deal ever. Overpriced and a discount of £50. LoL. COLD

And people say the Iphones are expensive?

Got one on upgrade. Using it now. Superb phone, absolutely stunning pictures. The display issue is seriously overblown and to me non existent.

I do have a slight issue with speaker rattle though on the earpiece with mine and EE have none left in stock to exchange mine with so may have to unfortunately return it and wait until they sort out build quality before buying again.

Just waiting for one of my kids 3rd birthday this weekend to take some nice pics first before returning...

Was hoping to find a shop selling it that accepts PayPal so I can spread the cost and get lower cost per month tariff.

Also wish Huawei or HTC built this one. Do not trust LG with build quality one bit. They've consistently built devices that start off with issues or don't last.

From the link...Pixel 2 XL
Seems pretty good to me.

O2
12GB Data
Unlimited Mins
Unlimited Texts

£185.00 upfront cost
£29.00 per month
£881 total cost

Essentially £132 for a 24 months contract or just over £5.5 a month.

I don't understand why this is cold, no matter what you think of the pricing of the phone the deal offers £70 off the 128GB model.

I took delivery of mine direct from Google (£899) and so far I can't fault the phone despite all the hype about issues.
I will agree the RRP is ridiculous but it is a very nice phone and Google are just following the pricing strategy of Apple.

But that aside, if you are looking to buy this phone then a sizeable discount does make this a good deal.

To all who vote cold, anywhere cheaper or even same price?
