So this was a pleasant surprise for me to find this afternoon. My 12 months Sim Only was up this month and I really wanted this phone Sim Free but this deal was too good to pass up. Even if you took a conservative Sim Only deal at say £15 a month that's £360 over 2 years leaving the phone in effect costing £521.
OR to look at it another way, if you take the the phone at RRP of £799 (which is ludicrous) the 24 month contract works out at £3.42 a month!
I do usually try to stay away from contracts especially 24 month ones but a deal's a deal!
If you still think it's too much for this phone then fair enough but given the other deals out there this isn't too shabby.

Make sure to use code DEALENVY10 at checkout to get the extra £10 off the up front cost.

Apologies - clicked cold by accident. I want this phone and really tempted to get this deal.

Tempting

Good stuff. Voted hot.

Good deal. Hot from me.

That's a cracking deal

Good price, voted hot but may as well get a note 8 which is same price but better in every-way especially with the recent problems reported with the screen

This is basically the same as PIXEL 1. Google are apparently following the iPhone strategy!

Wanna save a tenner? Use code DEALENVY10

Its younger brother is Smartphone of 2017 in my book.
The XL not for me (it was but it got off to a bad start) but.....
Very Hot, and inspired choice OP. Fair play.

It was actually the Note 8 deal that took me there in the first place. I slept on it and had every intention of getting it but I really didn't want to move back to Samsung from my Pixel XL, plus the Note is £210 up front so a little but more but still a cracking deal all the same.

I did see that but I thought it was only for the Samsung phones! Dammit! Although I wonder if you use it would it void any possible Quidco cashback which is worth more in the long run?

Ye I would like to know that too. Don't want to get the tenner off and then find out that the £35 is null and void

My quidco tracked at £25 by the way. It was £25 earlier on the quidco site but went up to £35 although it stated for upgrades. Maybe I should change the deal to £25.

Yeah i dont want to move to Samsung (from nexus 5x) too because i like pure android and pixel get latest update first with other manufacturer late by months. but hardware wise the note 8 is just so much better with SD card, smaller bezel, 2 gig more ram, audio jack, dual camera. I actually when to the shop today to check them out. but note 8 screen is so much prettier and more vibrant, i dont know if its the recent update to fix the pixel display issue or what but the display looks so pale and washed out on the pixel, and the side bezel looks huge in comparison.

Cant decide if i should get a pixel 2 or note 8 or even keep my nexus 5x for another year and wait for next gen andriod or iphone 9

Very good point. I’m going to sleep on it. By then sure someone would let us know if it’s ok

the code is published in topcashback so it will track, not sure about quidco

Can’t see it as an upgrade. New contracts only or sim free.

Do these handsets come sim locked? Tempted...

What's O2 roaming in Europe and America like does anyone know?

I am on Three paying £17 a month but would be tempted to go to £29 to get a new phone. How easy is it to port my number from Three also?

I wondered myself and I'll know soon enough. Although I'd guess they're unlocked/sim free as mobiles.co.uk are a 'trading arm' (as they refer to themselves) of Carphone Warehouse and their handsets are always sim free.

I was under the impression that all mobile networks were the same on account of the EU roaming laws..?

Mobiles.co.uk state that when you receive your handset and new sim you then get your pac from your current provider and give it to your new one, so a little bit of effort required on the customer's part. So I'll get my pac off Vodafone tomorrow and when my phone arrives I can provide O2 with it and be set up by the weekend all being well.

Is the XL worth the £110 difference?

Point it out for me. The same tariff works out to be £110 more over the term of the contract.

well you could buy a OPO 5T with student discount for £404. Which most definitely has the better display due to the lack of "blue shift" in the 2XL screen regardless the OPO only being 1080p. With a £15 a month sim only contract which is only a 12month deal (allowing more freedom for future sale) But say 2 years at £15 = £360 + £404 which i've just paid is £764. So isit worth and extra £117? probably not but thats down to you. If the Camera is most important you wont find a better phone, the OPO 5T camera is hugely improved though and when i compared it to my S7e earlier it was easily on par in good lighting (not tested low light)

this is a good price for the device though.

One of the latest reviews i've read, compliments the camera. Many videos on Youtube too say the camera is massively improved. Camera isn't that important to me though aslong as its good enough.

This deal will surely get very Hot. Or atleast deserves to. Great find OP.

Good find OP. If only this was on EE, o2 signal in my house is non existent.

Would you get o2 WiFi calling on this ?

Fortunately it's the other way round here. O2 and Vodafone are great in the west of Northern Ireland but EE and 3 may as well not exist unless you're living in Belfast.

Thanks for this! Better price than with EE even after my 30% discount!

£10 voucher worked and got an email for the qudico to be tracked at £25. Making the total cost of the contract if the phone is £799 SIM free only £1.95 a month.

Thanks for all that. I have updated the deal to reflect the £10 off and the more likely £25 Quidco. Still annoyed I didn't try the DEALENVY10 code myself, I Just assumed the 2 XL wasn't included!

The headphone jack and MicroSD card slot are both missing, features so basic you'll find them on even a £20 smartphone. Pathetic.

Is this site a about reviewing items or finding the best price for an item pepole may want to buy?

Tremendous deal - I think I'm gonna bite for this. As you say, that's a ridiculously good deal compared to the off-contract price of the handset and a SIM only deal.

Quick Q - Do o2 just have one type of contract? In other words, will this have all the bells and whistles of any of their other contracts, such as roaming, tethering, o2 Priority, etc? Three (who I'm with atm) do 'advanced' and 'essential' versions, and I'll definitely need roaming and tethering. It's not clear from mobiles.co.uk what's covered and I don't want unpleasant surprises!

I can't speak for the tethering I would be surprised if they offered it tbh but I'm happy to be proved wrong. As I mentioned previously I thought EU Roaming was a standard thing now for all UK networks so there shouldn't be an issue there. O2 Priority should be standard across O2 contracts. I've had various O2 contracts in my time and they've all have Priority (for as long as it's been running).

Thanks @GMac11! Just ordered it. Exactly the kind of deal I was looking for.

A very good deal but am I missing something here.

Mobiles.co.uk have their BF deal going on, today they switched it to the Pixel 2
Surely it might be worth holding on for another day as the Pixel 2 XL may be next on their deal page and this could be an even better deal in 24 hours or so
