Sign up using the link for the pixel 2 xl on the o2 £30 sim only contract 12 month deal, and as soon as you receive the phone/sim you must cancel the sim within 14 days of receiving it.
Just ring o2, or Vodafone if you take that deal and cancel.

2909261.jpg

You can do this with countless phones on carphone which is legal.

You can also get £52.50 cashback via topcashback for signing up to this deal.

I did this exact same thing with the p10 lite and received the cashback within 3 weeks. (paying only £89 for that)
You are essentially paying £476.50 for this phone after cashback.

Any questions and I'll answer
I know people will have some.

Are these phones really that good? How can I justify the price tag when my £200 Moto X does good.

What else do I get for the money?

That can be said about anything you buy really. Might be good enough for you, doesn't mean it will be for everyone

If we pay the phone outright and we cancel the sim don't we have to pay the £30 x 12 month conntract to buy it out?

It would seem no, as other people have had success in czn celling the sim only part of this deal.

Agreed. I would like a pixel but I'm having a hard time justifying to myself to spend that much. Trying to battle my inner-demons haha
Got the pixel 2 last month and super impressed coming from Samsung flagships for past few years. OS is buttery smooth and camera is stunning too.

Lol I get it, I've got a Xiaomi Mi A1 that I had to use for a few weeks whilst my previous U11+ was being repaired. It only costs £150 but that phone is amazing for what it can do, it's even got a headphone jack unlike some (looks at Apple, HTC and Google).

Lol yeah just need to double check. If anyone's tried it. Don't want to get the snow phone only for me to have to fork out the whole contract to cancel it.
I'm confused at what the numbers are, the 529, 589 and the 629 with line through. I can't see how I'll pay 475 if cashback is 52.50. 475 + 52.50 = 527.50 but I don't see that anywhere. Actually I don't see the £30 simo deal at that link, so it doesn't matter that much, not to worry. Explains why it's not hot though, I think.
Can you deffo cancel the contract with 02?!

Where does it say £589? Buy the phone at £529, cancel the sim within the 14 day without paying the first month, go through topcashback for £52.50 cashback, and pay £476.50 essentially. No?

Also the £629 is for the current sim free price from carphone
Must admit I think I'm missing something as surly you cannot cancel the contract for 12 months?

I bought my S8+ from GiffGaff with a SIM, but this was a top up SIM so only had to top up the SIM once with £10 to get the cashback and then did not have to use it.

Its been done before!

Its been done before!

Why not pay the upfront cost of £9.99 for the phone then and cancel the £53/month contract?

Surly you are agreeing to the 12 months contact (although this does seem very high on top of the payment for the phone itself).

Also just because its been done before I guess it does not guarantee it will work 100% of the time now?

Because the £9.99 deal is a package and an all in one contract, whereas the 12 month is a sim free phone payment, along with a separate 12 month sim only deal, hence why you are able to cancel the sim only deal. Most networks are trying to get you to sign up to a 12 month sim only now, as opposed to 30 day, and this is no different.

OK - just could not see any mention of SIM only deal.

Will have another look.

Where do you find the info that it's SIM only as don't know if I've missed it in the plan details?

Even when I've added the phone to the basket I cannot see anything about SIM free?

Thanks.

Hehe it's gone now from the listing, as has the £475 bit, now corrected to 476.50. Still baffled by the £30 o2 simo - can't see that option anywhere.
Edited by: "hkhk" 14th Mar
Sorry, but looks a little messy to me as I'm guessing they could at least ask for 1 months payment.

Also considering I can get 6% off SIM free price through something my work does (wish we had jumped last week though when it was put up to 9%).

Thanks anyway for posting.

Good deal. Not quite low enough price for me yet though. I am sure CPW would sell more of these if they just make it £500 without jumping through hoops
Would love to, but the banker won't let me! 😣
Got for total 707 over 24 months with 4GB Voda data a few weeks ago from mobiles.co.uk

Good phone, decent deal if you dont mind jumping through hoops.
Why is this deal so cold?! This is a crazy good price for the 2 XL, great find OP

There is now only £36 o2 with £529 upfront - will it be the same simo 12 month contract that you can cancel independently from device? Also there is £29 o2 with £539 upfront. Are all of them is Sim-free phone + simo contract?
