I bought one of these on the last deal that was on here. I'm sending it back.

It's a fantastic phone which takes the best photos I've seen. But the battery life is non existent in my mine. I'm assuming it will be similar in most second hand devices as, having done more research now, it appears that people complain about the battery life in newly purchased Pixel 3s.

Fair enough not everyone has a good experience with batteries on phones, however I'm using a Pixel 3. I've had it for a while, I bought it brand new from Google Store, and the battery does typically last all day even with heavy usage (music, videos, apps, games etc) without needing a charge up during the day.

I'm semi tempted to buy a new one, as it really is a great phone. But the battery is a pretty low capacity in the first place. I don't know whether to wait until the 4a comes out and see what battery is in that. It is the only thing holding me back because it's the best phone I've ever used in terms of OS and camera.
Yeah unfortunately these are not known for great batteries to begin with, plenty of reviews complained about that.

I have a PIxel 2 and I got May 2020 security update yesterday. I've had plenty of feature drops over the life of the phone. I'm not sure I can live without Live Caption, so I'll have to get another Pixel when mine dies. The battery life is now really terrible and it's far from an easy job to change the battery. The camera takes excellent pictures because the software is cutting edge or at least was and therefore it can quickly decide on the best settings, once you delve deeper you realise that yeah ok the sensor isn't great and anybody whose decent on a modern DSLR or Mirrorless with some nice lenses and time will thrash the Pixel, but the Pixels do such a good job of getting decent settings that the pictures look so much better than you expect, because you're used to smartphones where it's in Auto and it's dumb Auto, so it just does an average job and then you think ok yeah I'm rubbish at taking photos, but with a Pixel it's like having a decent skilled photographer with you and they say give it here, I'll fix the settings for you. I need a punctuation expert as well it appears.

My pixel 2xl is still awesome after 2.5yrs. I get about 1 day 8 hrs on avg and it rivals the later handsets for a fraction of the price.

you are the lucky one, my speaker wasn't working when i was using the pixel 1, then I bought pixel 2 as i thought that was me who broke the phone.

Same problem happened alongside with the battery issue, then found out most of the pixels were having the same issues at that time. Got a refurbished one from google, Cex refused to buy that

I've found it no worse than any apple phone I had, and better than the galaxies I've had, that said I think all of them have been pretty bad.

Also, this phone has been as low as £184 on eBay recently, very surprised it's getting hot at this price
