Same with most places that sell "refurbished" phones tbf
Not a fan of this phone due to low RAM, but can't complain at this price. Hot from me.

Depends what they've used that wipe for as well. Ewwww
Locked to EE
Still overpriced and underpowered.
Bought a used phone from cex and three months later it got blocked whilst I was abroad (Couldn't have happened at worse time). When I contacted my network provider they said my device has been reported stolen and its still in contract with EE and I should not have the device. Contacted cex and they agreed to refund it however it was an expensive to have phone blocked whilst abroad. Reversed all the savings of buying a cheap phone and much more!

Cex are trading devices which are still in contract and technically still owned by network providers, therefore trading these devices is breach of network providers contracts. Cex have no way to check if the device is in contract and they don't care. When I complained they pretty much shrugged their shoulders.

I was probably unlucky one however just saying when you pay peanuts, you get monkies!

Had a similar experience from Cash Converters, albeit the phone was blocked almost immediately. Received a refund quickly, but that must have been a nightmare being abroad.
It's worth looking out for the original Google Pixel phone on eBay. Comes with unlimited uploads in full quality to Google Photos for lifetime of device.

I'm interested in picking up a Pixel 2 or later as want to check out the new transcribing app (apparently not available on OG Pixel). What is the best place to get a cheap one? CEX? eBay?
actually - just did a quick Google search and it seems you can install the Recorder app on OG Pixel (unofficially):

You can put gcam mod on it and get astrophotography and longer zoom x range etc. The recorder app works fine on my Pixel 2.

I have a Pixel 2, the battery won't last a day now. So good luck with that. The battery is a pig to change as well.

I contacted Google using their online chat and they said they offer a battery replacement service. Not sure how much because the nice chap said he'll send me a free replacement

The recorder app works fine on my Pixel 2.

The Recorder app is not available for Pixel 1 phones from official Google Play Store (I checked).
However the 1st Oct 2019 apk I grabbed and sideloaded just now seems to work ok

I bought it mainly for the Google Photo unlimited storage offer, so as long as it can continue work off a power lead that will be enough for me

decided to try out sideloading the Recorder app on the Pixel 1 and it worked, so no need for me to buy the Pixel 2/3/4 now. Thanks though.
