What’s your opinion on the pixel 4: opinions seem mixed...

I wouldn't buy one, reported battery life, and the lack of finger print scanner are two killer features I can't live without.
Dual sim?
I still use pixel XL, best camera phones. Just buy it. Hot.
Still on Pixel 2 XL and no complaints. Still has a great camera even by today's (admittedly insane) standards.

I did actually upgrade to a Pixel 3 XL two weeks ago from CEX, but even though it was pristine on the outside (rated B) it kept getting corruption issues and needed a reboot.

Took it back to my local branch and got a full refund. So decent customer service but it's pot luck and definitely give the device a full check in the first month.
Yeah I wouldn't be ordering right now given the circumstances.

Can anyone tell me what the deal is having it locked to networks? Is it easy to get it unlocked? Are some networks easier than others to do this?

Bought EE phones from CEX before and paid 8.99 to EE to have them unlocked. No issues at all.

Vodafone require you keep a sim in the phone for a month and provide a free unlock.

O2 also offer a free unlock.

Just read the T&C's from CeX first before you unlock. Some have said on here, that it invalidates your warranty.

I'm not disagreeing, just saying read the T&C's for yourself before taking the plunge.

But you can get a much better phone, brand new too.
Open the bootloader, flash one of the numerous Aosp roms, add Gcam or Xiaomi cam port and bingo you have the phone Google should have made at half the price.

Bit rot was the term used by Android Authority.

I have no idea what Google are using inside their phones to have so many issues with corruption and random reboots, but it ain't coming out of the top bin of components.

Yeah I've never seen it before on any phone I've owned (Apple, Xiaomi, Pixel, Samsung)... But this one lasted about 3 hours after my porting my account across before certain apps started failing, then a few hours later it went into full boot loop corruption mode.

Such a pity as I actually love the device (I have a Pixel 2 XL atm), even when the horrendous notch. Can hide that away and then it's fine.

My 2 XL is still going but the battery is around 85% so with support ending later this year I figured I would put it in a drawer as a back up and upgrade.

Google have some weird stuff happening on their phones every year. I can't say I will ever stump up my cash for one of their phones, based on the sources is use and I only buy new.
Did anyone buy one of these? Would like to know the condition.
