Only 4GB RAM kills it for me. Better to wait for the 4A.
Runs Android 11 too, be it a buggy beta.
I would wait for 4a
When is the 4A due? Any idea on the price?

Hard to say without definitive specs but hoping for £349 but expecting £449+. You would at least hope it will be cheaper than the iPhone SE.

The likes of Xiaomi and Realme are redefining the mid-range market for me so the next Pixel will have to be really good and not stupidly priced. I'm still using a Galaxy S9+ and this still works great for me.

I purchased the ZTE Axon 7 on here a few years ago for £170, but finding something equal at a similar price point with a good camera and dolby stereo is difficult, the only one i can see is the Moto G7 Plus, has both OIS and Dolby Stero for those Youtube videos. If you want to spend over £400 its no problem, finding a budget mobile is more difficult. Even the Moto G8 plus is missing OIS on the camera, why i have no idea!!

sure if it were running skins on top of the OS like Samsung etc. 4GB is plenty for the Pixel range and you wouldn't run into any issues.
selling mine for 250

I wish that was true rosierd. When you take pictures, the Camera on the pixel phones uses lots of RAM for the processing which force kills other apps currently open in memory. Better to wait for the 4A which hopefully has 6GB RAM.

slightly biased I had the 3XL which also has 4GB RAM no issues whatsoever. I have the 4XL with 6GB RAM and it's indistinguishable to me I appreciate others might have certain usages which might stress it more than I do.

Try having Chrome open with 14 Fantasy Premier League tabs open, and you'll see what I mean.

That's a chrome issue sadly affects PC's also. Chrome has always been a resource hog but I like your style with the 14 tabs
my current phone has 2gb ram, 5 years old. i don't run into any memory issues
64gb kills it for me. But great for those who don't need as much!

I doubt many people will be waiting for it, the hardware will be average and the price will be insane.

You may as well say get another phone, there is no successor to the 3a XL.

My wins are -

New and better processor
6GB RAM
Additional updates worth

And lastly price wont be insane and it will be around £379 ($399) which is £100 extra and I believe its worth investing.

It'll have a crap screen I bet you. A £250 Samsung will destroy it. I'm sick of phones I've looked at them for months and my Pixel 2 is still working by some miracle so until the battery completely dies I'm sticking with it. The Pixel 4A isn't enough of an upgrade over my phone. The rumoured spec for the Pixel 5 is completely nuts, surely Google haven't lost the plot that much. £379 is sad money for average hardware. Google need to do better much better.

Specs wise yes Samsung wins. But the software is lag and sucks over native google OS.

The Pixel 4A has one, just one rear camera, no ultra wide, no telephoto and the same sad old sensor they've been using on the 3 and 4. You're paying for the software experience not the hardware.
over priced for an old phone, good phone yes, but been out a while now. if it was £299 be hot.

Crazy price for a device that got creamed by the half the price metal and glass Mtek driven Redmi Note 8 Pro.

It got creamed? Debatable when it's running a terrible skin on top of android. The camera is dreadful compared to the pixel check dxomark for example and all based on one lens not multiple. Unknown quantities of terrible Chinese chips or whatever the Soc is on these.

Its like comparing Philips hue which is refined to some £10 aliexpress bulb.

You keep talking rubbish about skins as Google continue to add functionality to drab stock by using oem features YoY.

Nothing to debate here it got CREAMED! And this is using lightweight apps.

I always laugh when. I see people playing Pubg on low settings on a device that launched at £399+
( But it has stock android. a single lens camera and is made of plastic )
The phone is vastly overpriced for what it offers.
I had a 3A XL for about 3 months, cant say it lagged at all, good phone, battery life was good as well.
