The Pixel 4 XL is the smartphone made the Google way. The camera takes a perfect shot every time while the Google Assistant gets things done with just a squeeze. The first phone to feature Motion Sense technology, you'll be able to control your phone in an intuitive and unique way. Best of all, it's built around the Google software that you know and love, and it's always getting better.

Recently got the 4a, surprisingly good experience but battery life is truly awful. Given this is worse can't imagine how bad it is

Recently picked up a Pixel 4, have been using fingerprint recognition on a Nokia and facial recognition is much better; but not supported by banking apps which is the only downside. Other than that I've popped /e/ on it and despite the previous owner suggesting battery life was poor as is commonly reported it's been fantastic, though it should be added I infrequently use my phone. I may well pop Graphene on it for additional security.

There is a way around this I believe that is to use a password manager that works with the Pixel 4's FaceID system so one that can access the Pixel 4's BiometricPromptAPI. One that I know of is Keeper. When you go to login Keeper is triggered and you have Keeper set to fill in the information automatically when authorised by FaceID. If Keeper doesn't do the job then Bitwarden Password Manager or 1Password should work.

Definitely do NOT use LastPass if they support it as LastPass has been severely compromised recently. (edited)

Like its predecessors, the Pixel 4 is also well supported by LineageOS. Compared to other smartphones released in 2019, it will still be usable for some time.
This makes it a good budget phone in my opinion.

Wish they made a pixel 4 with the battery of a pixel 5.

When this released, I was like Rick Osteloh needs to fired! He messed up Pixel 2, 3 and now the 4 surely Google can't keep him?! How he signed off a phone with a 2,700 nah battery and keep his job?!!!!! He's still there messing up.
