Mine was awful until April ... then from the May update, absolutely fine.

I guess if you apply all the updates out of box and then hard reset you will have a decent phone.

Do your common unlock fingers twice and that speeds up the unlock. One thing I am really disappointed in is the lack of face unlock - this was a complete pain during the winter and when you are following a reciepe.

It's saving grace, as always is the camera, which is amazing, otherwise I would have immediately gone back to the Oneplus 8T

How does this compare to say the Samsung s21/22 please? Any help appreciated.

S22 is slightly faster and more stable.

The Pixels have had a ton of bugs reported, Google fixed some with updates, but broke other stuff. There is no face unlock still (I believe ) and the fingerprint scanners are slow and inaccurate.

On the other hand Google has kept some Android features available only on their own phones. E.g. only the Pixels can do voice translation offline.

In terms of camera it's a mixed bag, but the Pixels are probably better than S21 and S22, except the Ultra variants.

This is the lowest price I've seen for both Pro and non-Pro, so good find

Some of the part exchange values are good too; £112 for a Pixel 3A. Really tempted to upgrade one of kids. Also don't forget pay for high level Google One account for a month (£8) and get 10% back a month later in store credit.

I traded in an old pixel 3a, literally got accepted yesterday, was quite a quick turnaround Tbf to them, around 10 days from sending to payment

Hot from me, but going to hold out for the Pixel 7 Pro given all the bugs.

Have the Poco F3 at the moment and it's perfect (apart from an ok camera). Have not really had issues with no proximity sensor as always lock when not in use (as I do with all my previous phones automatically).

Why wait for the 7 or 6a when you could wait for the 12 and 11a?

I've been waiting for the 6a to replace my wife aged 3a. For £19 extra she is now getting a better phone. Purchased!

Shame you can't trade in the 6 for the 6 Pro..... Saying that, would I really want to on the buggiest phone I have ever owned!!
    Avatar
Yep. I'd have done just that!

This makes the upcoming "budget" 6A appear to be expensive!

Ordered x1 pixel 6 pro for me and x1 pixel 6 for the wife, will replace both our Pixel 4a 5G who we've traded in with Google Store UK who offered £186 each, have also applied for financing and after trade in looking at £27.20 pm with 0% interest for 24 months.
    £606 Pixel 6 Pro + £419 Pixel 6 - £186 trade in Pixel 4a 5G - £186 trade in Pixel 4a 5G = £653

Pretty good deal for upgrading both our phones

    Thanks @MrSwitch

Edit: the 5% off voucher expires today 15th of July, voucher available via Unidays...also Google Store discount expires 19th (edited)

Decisions decisions... Got both the pro and 6 at launch and sent the pro back due to form factor being the main decider. However, I do miss the telephoto lens if not for shooting miles away but using it as a dedicated portrait lens as the results are impressive!
Head over heart played a factor with the £599 Vs £849 also...

I can currently trade the 6 in for £420 which leaves a £190 gap (less than that at launch date). With the 7 not likely to upgrade the hardware, I don't see any huge gains and a fresh warranty could be a sensible move?

Anyone else regret being a cheapskate? (edited)
