I bought the Pixel 7 normal and then got the 6a for £134 from Google after they did the inflated iphone trade in (£145 for a iphone 5s) and using a 15% off code.

I have been using the 6a for over a week now and for my typical day to day use I find it to be a very good phone. I am mainly Whatsapp'ing, no other social media app'ing and YT videos here and there. The only thing that I am missing from the 7 is the face unlock and that little bit quicker performance, but the 6a is no slouch. Bought this as a backup phone and now it has become my primary

Camera wise the 6a takes very good photos as many reviews have pointed out, especially coming out on top on a blind test by MKBHD. The screen is has good colours and is sharp. Size and weight wise ideal. Battery wise for me both the 6a and 7 last the day as I am on calls literally all day Monday to Friday from 8 to 5 and have around 20% left. The 6a has lasted me two days of minimal use this gone Saturday and Sunday. OS wise it has been updated to Android 13 and everything feels smooth, to me it feels that bit better than the Pixel 6 I also used and sold on. Not a mobile phone gamer, so cannot comment.

    Check this out...

No free EU roaming really kills new 3 deals for me

Isn't that the same for all the providers post Brexit? I assumed it was, but happy to be informed if some still offer it as may influence who I renew with.

FYI @john... it’s a 24 month contract not a 27 month one total should be just under £400

Bought this. Already on a £10 per month data sim, so this is costing me an extra £4 per month. Just £96 for a 6A. Brilliant.
    TheCostOfLies's avatar
You'll be paying at least £6 per month extra in just a couple of months time, and more next year...

Nice deal. Tempted by this. I don't normally sign up to long contracts but I'm already paying £8.50 a month for a 20gb SIM. I know the price will go up in April but presumably only by about £1.50.

I ask this with no shade towards the OP (love you Switchy), but how is it that posts like this can be listed as a total price which is month 1 x length of contract, when we know that in April the price will be £16.10, even if we don't know what the remaining 9 months will be on the tail end of the contract?

At the very least, it's misleading to those less aware of how prices of contracts change annually.
    RamJagRuice's avatar
cant you end the contract if you ring when the price goes up?

Im giving heat, alright. Nevertheless, I just...I have to make the same regretful lament, and that is : why did I pass up getting one for £299 - £125 trade-in from the G-gods themselves - why did I do it, people.? So foolish, but then I tell myelf: that charging speed is some 2018 nostalgia nonsense...

Im so glad google accepted the iphone 5s i traded in for £145

How much of an upgrade would this be from my mi mix 3 5g? Im sure the camera will be a lot better but is this gonna hold up well for gaming.

    Hi,
Is the £14 in pcm just the line rental? or are these payments below the actual contract including the handset

*****First 3 months will be £42

    Additional 12 months with 14.4% increase will be 16 x 12 = 192

    Last 9 months with 14.4% increase will be 18.32 x 9 = 165

With zero upfront. Total will be roughly = £399****

    Any help gratefully appreciated
    TheCostOfLies's avatar
£14 is the line rental, but every April (including in two months time) , no matter what contract you're on, the price will go up by inflation + 3.9%, so this year about 14%, or around £2.10.

Next year, you'll probably add 10+% again onto £16.10, so nearer £18+.

If you take out a contact after April, the price won't change until the following April. Don't expect this deal to be around at this price then though (edited)

    £16 now.

£14 deal is over it's now £16 which means that from April you'll be paying £18.30.
