It's the more affordable, super fast and secure Google phone.

The brains behind Pixel 6a.

Google Tensor makes Pixel 6a super smart, secure and powerful. It's the first chip designed by Google just for Pixel.

The battery that adapts to you.

Pixel's Adaptive Battery can last over 24 hours. It learns your favourite apps, so it doesn't waste power on the ones that you rarely use.

Battery power when you need it most.

Turn on Extreme Battery Saver, and the battery can last up to 72 hours. You can choose which apps to keep running and Pixel turns the others off.

Translate languages in real time.

With Live Translate, you can chat in 11 languages, interpret face-to-face conversations and translate signs with the camera. (See g.co/pix…ate for more information)

Google Tensor helps you get things done fast.

Pixel is fast and responsive with the Google Tensor chip. Apps launch fast, pages and images load quickly and everything runs smoothly.

Pixel charges fast. Really fast.

When you plug in your Pixel, it charges fast. With just a few minutes of charging, your phone gets hours of power.

Your favourite face, without the blur.

The Pixel Camera can unblur a face to make it sharper. So a great photo isn't ruined because of a little movement.

Make distractions disappear, just like that.

With Magic Eraser and Google Photos, you can easily remove distractions like photobombers. Or change the colour and brightness so an object blends right in.

Beautifully accurate photos with Real Tone.

Real Tone from Pixel 6 comes to Pixel 6a. So photos represent different skin tones beautifully and authentically.

Your protection, built into Pixel.

The Titan M2 chip and the Google Tensor security core, an extra layer of hardware security, help to make Pixel more resilient to attacks.

Unlock Pixel with a touch.

Fingerprint Unlock is a secure and reliable way to unlock your phone.

The water-resistant phone.

Don't worry about splashes. With IP67 protection, Pixel 6a can take a little water and dust. So you can take your phone with you wherever you go.

Pixel just keeps getting better.

Every few months, your Pixel gets new feature drops. They're automatic software updates that send new features, tricks and apps to your phone.

The best photos come out at night.

Night Sight captures city lights and starry skies in the dark. With Night Sight portraits, faces look rich and vibrant, even in low light.

Know who's calling and why.

Call Screen helps with unknown callers. Google Assistant tells you information about the caller so that you can decide whether to pick up or not.

Just talk to type.

Use your voice to quickly type, edit and send messages with Assistant voice typing in Messages, Gmail and more.

Security and privacy, made simple.

The Security hub helps protect your phone, account and passwords. With all your security settings in one place, they're easy to see and control.

Security updates keep Pixel safe.

To protect you and your sensitive data, Pixel comes with at least five years of security updates. So your Pixel gets even more secure over time.

Google puts the G in 5G.

Download and upload videos super fast over 5G. Watch movies, play games and get stuff done when you're on the go.

Remember, you have to create a contract then cancel it. I did one of these deals with O2 last year and it was a serious pita to get it cancelled AND it stayed on my credit rating for nearly a year before O2 removed it. Would love to heat it but from my experience I just cannot recommend, sorry!
I have never had any trouble with O2 (been a while though).
You can get around calling by using PAC 65075 or STAC 75075 codes (You MUST request AND USE THE CODE) to terminate a contract. (see here) I tend to buy a throw away PAYG card and transfer (using PAC) the number to the new provider.
So 02 -> (AnotherProvider) (again, I have not done this in a while but you want a PAYG account that will let you "bring" a number with £0 credit).

It would be nice if Ofcom would simply have a "cancel" code, but I would imagine there's too much pushback from the industry on that. (edited)

Is only £299 direct with Google at the moment and I would definitely rather go direct for £30 difference and the credit checks etc.....
No problem appreciate it'll suit some not others hence why I've put it out there. I'm OK with the check so happy to save the penny's

Is 6a better than 6 but worse than 6 pro?
    Not so good.

    Think it goes 6A => 6 => 6 Pro (edited)

Better of paying the extra £30.40 and getting the Pixel 6 .
I considered that but decided to go with the 6a due to the size of the phone and it probably being easier for my son to handle
