I'm in the market for a new tablet and I like the look of this one. The price of the 32GB edition is £399 and the 64GB is normally £479. I don't think it's a great saving but it might help someone get what they are after. The only previous Pixel C deal was when they were offering 25% off to developers.

This is nowhere near as good as that deal but I was going to buy one at full price so this is a nice sweetner.

The info for the offer is pasted as follows: "Terms and Conditions

Was £479, now £419. Offer valid from 22 August 2016 from 12:00 a.m. PDT to 6 September 2016 ending 11:59 p.m. PDT. This offer cannot be combined with other offers or discounts. Offer is non-transferable and not valid for cash or cash equivalent. Void where prohibited."

I've had one since that 25% deal (which paid for the keyboard), and it has already received the Android 7.0 (Nougat) update.

Great news. I missed the 25% discount as I wasn't looking for one at the time. I was tempted by the Samsung S2 but this one won it for me when I read the review.

nexus 9 has it to (got it yesterday).

Even if retail was £419 for the 64Gb model then it would still be very poor vfm.

I use my PIXEL C , All the time. I hardly ever use my iPads now and I am an apple fan. This is a seriously good tablet. The only thing that would beat it for me is the upcoming IPAD PRO 2 12.9 INCH. until then, the PIXEL C is my tablet of choice( and I have about 10 tablets, being a tabletholic)

The upcoming iPad Pro 2 12.9"? Do tell me more, I'm curious about the spec, wild rumour?

New Nexus range out in the next few weeks so I think this might be the first of many price drops.
Still a great prices for a knockout unit (I paid full price as the I missed the Dev discount!) blown away by the performance and quality of this unit. Heat++

I have had this tablet since the dev discount and my only critique is that it can get fairly warm for some games. Performance wise it does exactly what I want it to do but I just wish developers would actually spend a bit of time making their apps tablet friendly.

Dont know the specs. I am after a big screen tablet( already have a 14" Lenovo tab plus 2 but don't use it that much) so waiting on apples upcoming pro 12.9( 2nd gen).

Not as good as 25% off though.
Played it the first time in Currys earlier today. Really loved it.
the screen has a subtle pattern, not very good for showing white/light colour background.
a bit like the one on Sony Z5 premium.
Other than that, everything else is good.

"Look Ma, no keyboard!"

This is the Android tablet for eejits that don't like Apple.
Not having expandable memory is a complete deal-breaker and there's really no excuse for it.

Better not buy an iPad either, then...!

Why would you pay this much for an android tablet with no SD slot, no stylus support and no 4G? Heavy too! You must be bloody lunatics! A fool and his money.....

How accurate is the gps on the Pixel C?

Being a Nexus device, I should hope so too!

I had it on my 6p within hours of release. (Sign up for beta to get the stable release rather than waiting for OTA)

My main reason for giving up on Samsung. Way too slow with updates. If they bother at all. My "flagship" Tab-S has not had a single OS update since I got it. Still stuck on their crappy Lollipop build. Some "flagship". And they're just as bad with phones.

Good price for what it is if you happen to need an insanely powerful tablet.

Yeah...but anything that takes 11 days to reach 100 degrees is not really hot. Now if they were to throw in a TB cloud like the chromebook...

Thanks for the insight

Yeah there's a good chance these will get heavy discount when the Nexus phones get announced as there's a good chance they will have a new tablet there

is Bluetooth still working fine on your pixel c after the update? mine's gone patchy.

I'm off google for a while, had the awful nexus 9 and eventually had to claim it back on extended warranty from my credit card after it died for the THIRD time in less than two years. Awful build quality, and googles support for it was terrible they really did not put the effort in to get android working smoothly on the 64bit tegra.

Normally this would be a no brainer for me, but I've gone for the surface now and frankly it's the best thing I've ever done. I used the refund on the nexus 9 towards it so I didn't break the bank along with a 25% discount so I got a top of the line surface book. Don't think I'm going back to google for a while, they just don't put the customer first and that used to be acceptable when nexus meant cheap and good and easy to stick custom roms on, when they are expensive as everyone else they can sling their hook.

Heat, if you want an Android tablet this is the one to get.

Sorry that's what I was trying (and failing) to say, it's eejits that buy Apple!

Agreed. Pixel C is just a showcase device by Google to demonstrate Android. They deliberately scuppered it with no expandable storage so as not to step on the toes of their Android partners ie other tablet manufacturers.

For this amount of money, getting the Yoga Book over this is a no brainer IMO, not least because you have the choice of Android, ChromeOS and Windows OSes and you don't have to pay another £100 for the keyboard like the Pixel C. The other thing to note with the Pixel is that you have no multi window multitasking. Want to email during a YouTube video and you have to switched out of YouTube and into your email program etc.

giving it heat for the discount. if anyone thinks its expensive, look at how much Samsung want for the keyboard for their tablet:
samsung.com/uk/…GGB

p.s. that Samsung keyboard's a lot cheaper at Handtec
handtec.co.uk/sam…tml

I've got one of these and it is just awesome. I've also just got an iPad Pro mainly to use as a second screen for my MacBook. Both iOS and android have their advantages but out of all the tablets I've tried this is by far the best and will have support for a few years too. The keyboard case is great too as it can have loads of different angles.

The latest version of Android supports multi windows and this being a Google device it will get the update.

tablets at this price are a no go especially considering what their limits. you're better off getting a chromebook
