Do these work on an iPhone (hopefully not a stupid question).

No, you can't. Other android watches can though. I have used Tic Watch and Tag Heuer connected with iPhone.

I was seduced by the idea of a smart watch a few years back, got the Samsung active. Nice watch, but needed charging every other day, and I couldn't read it without glasses, so might as well use phone. I now use a £40 Huawei band which does all I need and lasts 10 days or more on a charge

I got mine free with the 7 pro pre-order deal. I like it, it's comfortable and works well for fitness and sleep tracking. Battery is pants, but charges up pretty quickly. If I was to buy it, wouldn't pay more than 150.

Slow, poor battery, and the whole needing the Fitbit app which hasn't been updated in years for the fitness features to work is ridiculous at this price.

    Don't buy it on here.

I bought one on eBay for £160 sealed, tried it, went back in the box the same day and sold it for the same as I bought it for.

Very much a 1st gen device and should be avoided.

Unfortunately Google have to update the Fitbit app to modernise it, as they legally cannot merge it with Google Fit as the user data has to be separate. The current Fitbit app is a disaster, and no telling when they'll actually fix that. I know they're in the process of adding Material You design language to it, hopefully updating it's functionality in the process. (edited)

Do they though, regularly? Vast majority are at or around £150/175 are used/opened. Majority new sealed are £200+ so not sure that's accurate. You can certainly save via eBay but not always at the amounts people make out on here.

Love the design choice Google has gone for but the bezels are awful and I've just heard too many negative things to buy the first generation. Holding fire till 2nd, assuming they've ironed out the kinks

Terrible smart watch. Until apple and Google can produce a watch with a battery lasting longer than 24h they won't have my money. I owned one for about 5 days, then bought a Huawei GT3 pro and had change after. A 7 day min battery life is much easier.

24 hours? That's shocking. I was interested in this but absolutely not for 24 hours battery life.

Nice bits of tech but the 24hr battery life is poor, I'll stick with Huawei gt2 for now, 7-14day battery life and good range of features.

What's better? This or Samsung watch5?
    Vexltor's avatar

This isn't any better than watch 4, so I would suggest the watch 5 even just for slightly better battery.

There is very old tech inside these, put a Chinese brand name on it and it's less than £100 That's the going rate from 3 generation old smart watch.
