I've been after this for a while for using my GoPro whilst Scuba diving, and I've just had the CamelCamelCamel alert alerting me to a price drop. According to CCC, this is the cheapest it's ever been at Amazon, and I'll be ordering accordingly.

Wanted to share in case it's useful to anyone else. I'd done quite a lot of research into various flotation devices previously and decided that this was the best for my purposes. If anyone else has any other suggestions, please feel free to share!

FYI - most other stores that I can see are selling for between £22.50 and £23.50 - in addition, some of these being sold are the previous version that do not include the carabiner or wrist strap.

Hope this helps!

I gave it heat, but looking at it now on Amazon, it doesn't get good reviews! Product sent, isn't product shown in image...shame, would have purchased.

I also noticed these comments - I can only assume that these reviews are from people that have purchased from third party sellers (I read at least 5 equivalent critical reviews and none mentioned having bought from Amazon). Until today, the Amazon price was higher than that of 3rd parties', so it's plausible that they bought the cheapest available at the time.

Usually when Amazon have received several notifications of the item not being as described, they pull it to give them a chance of investigating the issue. If there truly is an issue, I would be confident in Amazon resolving this without much of an issue.

Fair point! Will take another look later...looks like it could be ideal for taking kayaking.

Personaly I will chose a one that is not floating this one may disturb your bouyancy while diving.Got UK Pole , xshoot 2.0 and flexigrip also this one but mostly use flexigrip.

You'll probably end up with the first version which doesn't have the Black rubber grip and the tether is as thin as a piece of string.

Even the newer version isn't great. I much prefer the SP Dive Buoy.

What do you prefer about the Dive Buoy kkboro (genuine question as I've ordered the GoPole, but am open to other suggestions!).
Is it just the thicker lanyard that you're able to use?

I bought this from Amazon directly a few months ago (not 3rd party) and they did indeed send the first version and not the updated one with the black rubber grip.

I promptly sent it back. Shame if they continue to send out the old version and not update the product page!

It'll be just enough buoyancy to float the camera and housing, you won't notice it.

FatalSaviour, in answer to your question. The Dive Buoy in my opinion is better quality and comes with a paracord wrist strap with a carabiner.

It's also perfect for diving because you can't unscrew the watertight end cap and ballast it with water to give neutral buoyancy. When not used for diving, you can use this area to store items you want to keep dry.

Thanks for this kkboro - I hadn't noticed that you could store items inside that buoy - that's really interesting!

Unfortunately, my GoPole arrived this morning - now to decide whether the differences are significant enough to return and order the SP POV at a higher price!

I can confirm that the GoPole that is currently shipping (if ordered direct from Amazon) is the newest version (with the black rubberised grip).

Hope this helps!
