I got the SJ4000- really fantastic. I bought it for about 80 including two extra batteries, and courier delivery. Search wakeywarrior on YouTube and select my channel to see footage of it on my cycle helmet on road and mountain bike. Don't waste money on Gopro.

Good price, looking in to the SJ4000 instead though, half the price and video looks fantastic. Also shares the same mounts as the Hero 3

Ive used aliexpress a lot, never had any problems, obviously you are better buying from a seller with higher feedback.
The seller only gets paid once you have recieved your item and confirm you are happy with it

Jeez 4 weeks later and still not received sj4000 from aliexpress seller.

Hit and miss with delivery times from aliexpress, some sellers I've had things delivered in two weeks, others have taken up to six weeks

I didn't get hit, marked as gift and labelled as sports camera with value $12. I couldn't say for sure import friendly.

Old stock has focus problems. New stock has that remedied. Make sure you check focus past 2 foot if you buy.

Are these cameras worth getting for normal everyday footage? Or are they just for wacky fisheye action videos?

Must.....resist....temptation, wanted one of these for when I hit 200 jumps (C lisence) in skydiving but only 170 more to go!

Battery is weaker but does have the advantage of a screen, and with spares at $4 each I'm not sure if I mind (plus they are charged through the camera via MicroUSB which is universal)
Video looks great, dare I say better than the Hero 3 white. Audio isn't a big deal for me, mostly blocked by the waterproof casing anyway.

Audio is going to be blocked with the GoPro too with the waterproof case on, so no difference there!

A good review, no doubt. But, the overly sharpened looking footage married to that barrel distortion, put me off. Shame, as otherwise, it looks like a bargain.

Ive never paid import duties from aliexpress, and I've ordered lots of stuff from there, the mounts will fit on most things, the sj4000 comes with a selection of different mounts

Get the SJ 4000 instead. Videos as good, uses same mounts, looks almost identical and costs about 75 quid, either from Foxoffer in china or there was a guy on Amazon selling. I've timed batteries and they last 1hr 20. The batteries are a fiver a piece and I got 5. Search for me on YouTube and click my channel to see some recent footage.
