Not sure , bought my session 5 for £129 last year.
Always wanted one but will wait..However heat added for the effort
I'm after action cam. Thinking of buying this one (don't want to spend that much for latest models especially if its gonna be my first one). Is it still good enough?

I got one as well. It was an argos deal. I also got a £10 voucher at the time.
I brought 2 of the session 5's last year also, used the £10 voucher on the 2nd one
I bought session 4 when i was released at £159. I think fair price at this point would be £70-£80 considering it is 4 generation behind and is very basic with average quality. This gen has got no stabilisation so unless you have got a 3rd party stab footage will be shaky during simple walks, photos are 8MP and any current gen mobile would deliver better quality (no raw either if you are in to editin). At this price I'd expect atleast session 5 or HB5, however I would not even buy it. Last GoPro I have purchased was 6B at £169 prior GoPro 7B release.

When the HERO Session was first released, wasn't it like £400?!?

Good times! I bought 10 and put them on eBay for £195 each!

Never mind. It was the 'HERO4 Session', not the 'Session' that was £400
Why so expensive?

Its outdated tech with poor battery life and no EIS. It's good for nothing in this day and age.
If it was the session 5 then it would be heat but it should be sub £100 by now. The session 5 on the other hand is a great camera perfect form factor. Would love a session 7 or 8 they could loose some features but keep hypersmooth.
I have one of these. Got it for cheap when Halfords cocked something up, however I don't really rate it. I would go for one of the Chinese action type camera GoPro copies that are well reviewed.
Battery is pretty rubbish, connection to the app is awful, transfer speed to app is awful too. So just my opinion, I'm going to get a Chinese GoPro lookalike.
