Unfortunately, there's a whole cottage industry called 'gourmet cuisine' that makes it a point to adhere to such specifications
Gordon Ramsay is so much better then Jamie Oliver

Jamie Oliver is the tw*t who campaigned for years to get the government to introduce sugar tax

This sugar tax has ruined tons of loved food and drink (mostly drink)

Thanks to him
Irn Bru is ruined
Lucozade is ruined
Coca Cola is ruined
And more

Thanks Jamie Oliver you Tw*t
I shall forever despise you, whenever you shall disappear from this earth I shall praise with joy

Jamie also messed up school dinners! They were decent when I was year 7 to about 10 and towards the end it was terrible!

This was 10 years ago.. maybe they have a la carte now or something.
The difference between Gordon and a x-country runner?

I never ate school dinners because they tasted awful but they wasn't healthy but they was awful

Nasty Burgers which are probably made of soy and not meat
Soggy Greasey Pizza which tasted horrible
The selection was very poor so i can't really say. This was High school not Primary
I remember my Primary meals being what I call a "A 50p Microwave Dinner from Iceland"

But the drinks i could see they was trying to get everyone to eat healthy or they was just a poor school
They had tons Unknown brands
There was no normal brands

According to my eldest the food is overpriced garbage at high school, cash cafeteria though so he pays for what he eats .... youngest are at junior school, £2.10 a day for crap ... they could take sandwiches but they wanted to eat with their mates, half the time there is only one option as they have run out of things, and that option is always something like spaghetti made with TVP. Mother used to work in charge of school meals years ago under the council, they had to make atr least 120% profit to survive. Profit margin must be ove 500% nowadays, they would have you think its healthy options but they care more about the money

I've personally been to Heddon Street and Maze. You're some what right re. portion size.....but to be honest - 10pp for 2 courses at restaurants where mains cost up to £35.

I think that is awfully good.

P.s. the food is really good.

Robdk:
So basically what you're saying is you think childhood obesity and diabetes is a good thing?

I am not a child

I am not fat nor will I ever

99.99% children whom I see arent fat

It's not about the food we eat: it's about control, if you eat it normal then your fine: if some fat slob eats 10 Pringles and drinkes 20 litres of coke then yes obviously that's bad as well if you ate too much water and fruits and vegetables

So your point is: Most of population can't eat nice food and drink because their is small number of "obese" people who can't control themselves

They need to stop ruining food. Coca Cola won't be exactly ruined but it will be much more expensive, so expensive that many won't buy as frequently

Anyway enjoy your Sugar Tax, your TV licence aka BBC Tax, Oxygen Tax (this has been joked about but I bet the British government will be the first ones to do it) technically there is a oxygen taste because if you don't pay your monthly taxes then they will give you life in prison and you will be killed

It's all garbage anyway. Try not drinking any fizzy drink for a few months. You'll find it difficult because it's addictive. Sugar is addictive! People are becoming bigger and exercising less. Something had to be done! Was taxing the drinks a good idea? Can you think of any other better ideas?

Why don't you make something healthy for your eldest? It doesn't have to be sandwiches. Pasta and pesta is nice cold. Onigiri (rice balls) is a popular lunch in Japan. Bento? Have a search on google. Thanks to the world's various cultures and YouTube, we don't have to rely on plain old boring sandwiches anymore!

It's actually 9.6% of children who are obese. source
It's the same argument as for cigarettes/alochol. Sugar in the quantities seen in those sort of foods is just plain bad for you. It's a scale too, not like you reach a threshold and the harm goes from 0 to 100. Sugar has been linked to cancer also.
It's a tax on people who are more of a burden on society by choice, given NHS is paid for by tax from everyone.
Overweight people are estimated to cost the NHS £7.1bn by 2050. The sugar tax is recouping those costs.

But...

Irn Bru Extra is nicer.

Lucozade Free is nicer.

Coke Zero is nicer.
Gordon Ramsay is one of the best chefs in the world. Restaurant Gordon Ramsay has three Michelin stars, the highest honour that any restaurant can achieve. He was the first scottish chef ever to achieve 3 Michelin stars. Delia Smith, with all due respect, isn't even in the same class.

it doesn't matter whether you drink sugar laced or foul tasting artificial sweetener drink, they don't seem to have any effect in terms of someone's health. If you care to look the people who drink the sugar free versions are equally addicted and just as fat as those drinking the sugar laden drink. It matters not one jot, when they are incapable of exercising or making sensible dietary choices because they are addicted to these sugary, fat laden processed junk products.

What do you get for your £20? not a lot - the fish portion is tiny and you can count the chips with just your fingers (excluding thumbs). What you get here is large empty plates with tapas portions of food. It will be great for the weight conscious as long as you don't stop off at the kebab shop afterwards.

This is not 3 Michelin starred food, this is a Gordon Ramsay approved template menu. £10 for burger and chips - well that appears to be the going rate in places like gourmet burger and all the others. £10 each for a few mouthfuls of risotto? I think I'll skip this "offer".

That seems like BS

That doesn't seem accurate at all, what does the British government consider obese? What British Government consider Obese is normal weight in many countries, The average Obese person in this country is much slimmer then the average American obese person

Did this last year, the price comes out nothing like £24.
Staff claimed to have not heard of the deal until showed on my phone, despite me putting it in my booking notes.
Drinks start at £10 each.
The mains come with no sides which are £5 each.
Mandatory service charge added.
Leaving, the bill was £92, WITH the offer applied.

Good. It has waaaaay too much sugar in it.

It's been proven that sugar free drinks are even worse. I would avoid anything artificial. Sugar is great in moderation but it's quite evil when taken in huge doses.

Ignorance is not an excuse. There are plenty of resources out there!

Just because companies market sugar free drinks as healthy, it doesn't mean they are. I assume water plus a chemical version of sugar is just not going to end well for my body!

I mostly drink water, Matcha, Green tea, Lemon (real) in hot water. Taste nicer than anything artifical and loaded with sugars!

For £20 you get 4 courses of food at really highly rated restaurants in areas of Mayfair & Kensington I London.

I appreciate this might not be "your thing" but it is a very good offer.

I've been twice this year, and once last year. Heddon Street is my favourite choice.

Both the UK and the US define obese as having a BMI over 30 so you're wrong and basically just making stuff up.

Seems, but isn't. This can all be easily checked on Google in about the time it took you to write that response.
Also, as someone else pointed out, Obesity definition is the same across the pond. BMI >25 (Overweight) and >30 (obese), as stated by the World Health Organisation, which pretty much every developed country follows. source

I'm starting to wonder what you're using as a source of information..
