I nearly purchased these but a few reviews have said these come with one of those massive transformer plugs that don't fit standard size weatherproof outdoor plugs.

Just so people are aware and can prepare accordingly.

Why threaten? Literally plug them in and go in and place them. Set them to 100% brightness on party mode

I've used the 4 set for party use inside, put round the back of seating to flood the walls from the bottom.

Do you need the app to turn these on or can you for e.g. use a timer on a hue smart plug to turn them on/off?

If it works like the app based Govee ones we have(non smart). On power up they would revert to the last colour/setting it was on before being switched off. We have ones under my sons bed on a smart plug

I'd check the reviews for WiFi requirements. I bought a pair not dissimilar and it won't work on my WiFi if it's not in 2.4ghz mode.
If not needed, rock on.
