Longtime watcher, first time poster...

LED light strip which can be controlled by your phone, Alexa or GoogleHome. Nice bit of kit and a good deal at this price. Instead of having one colour for the whole strip this is split into addressable sections which can show colours independent from each other creating awesome effects. Has a built in microphone for syncing with music. Great deal.

I bought these last time @ £23.99 and they are well worth the money. I bought a cheaper Dreamclolour set for £17 at the same time and wish I'd paid the extra for these. As mentioned, these aren't like your normal LED light, Every single bulb has the ability to be a diferent colour to the next, which create fantastic Rainbow effects etc.

Also worth mentioning that this works and brings the price down to £19.49

If you want another 25% off this price, download the Govee Home app and click on the diamond (Savvy User) tab in the app - choose the correct item and a code is copied to your clipboard - then add it in the checkout on Amazon, brings it down to £19.49for 5m

Seems like a good price, why cold?
So that's what old Gove is doing now.
This isn’t standard 5050 led light guys !!
Dreamcolor aren’t cheap as they are capable of producing multiple colour at the same time rather than one colour on 5050led

I don't get why this is so cold dream colours are usually in the top 20s to 30 quid up category. Is everyone just thinking it's a standard rgb strip?

You could have used the code to order two at the same time.

Try this... Go to play store... Delete app. Reinstall app... New code.

Deleted and reinstalled app but Amazon won't accept code. Tempted to cancel my single buy and go for 2, but maybe that will cause an issue too

I've had a chat with Amazon and they told me Govee know I've used the code and it's not Amazon blocking and use. Which is wrong.

What I would do... A bit risky though is cancel the single and order two. If that fails then open another account (it's only like ordering from anywhere new) and or two using code. There are risks of the price going up.

I'll open another Amazon account as I'm skeptical of cancelling. Thanks again
Thanks to @ChilliPeppa for sharing your first deal and to @Thetrout for the additional app information

Thank OP, mine arrived very pleased.
There is a drawback to these strips. To my understanding, they can't be cut to size because of the I.C on the strip? I'd ideally like to put them on the back of my 49" TV, but I'd have loads spare?

I see @Thetrout has put some of these on the back of his monitor, but I can't see the monitor using up all of the 5 meter length, or am I missing something?

I too am having the same thoughts since buying. However if you take a look at the non alexa/Google dreamcolour strip that is cuttable even with IC's.

I've just had a quick look. Govee are not clear on the issue when answering questions. They say they may stop working if cut?

I know, stupid really. I have seen other strips with ic's that can be cut. I will check out the length where I am putting this weekend and if I can get away without cutting I will if not I will cut and see how it goes. I will give an update if I cut.

From question on amazon...

The patterns still work, but don't adjust for the new length, so if you have on music mode the centre point is always fixed distance

I emailed govee and got the following reply.

Hi,

We do not recommend you to cut the dreamcolor strip lights since the leds are controlled by individual IC. The strip lights will stop working, even you connect them after cutting, they will not work properly. They just can't be cut.‘’
