This or Ooni Kodi 16? Help...
It's a toss up really... Gozney are arguably slightly better quality, but the Koda 16 obviously gives you the potential for significantly larger pizzas. You need to decide if that extra size is a priority for you... if not then go for this, or even just a Koda 12 & save some pennies for other accessories. At a fundamental level they'll all be do much the same job.

This over an ooni. Amazing kit.

Looks decent. I don't see how this is substantially superior to an Ooni though? Stainless steel? Pizza stone? Fire at the rear that heats the stone and travels the roof of the dome to cook the toppings?

I see it's got a nifty thermometer at the side, any other differences?
Stone is much thicker than on the Ooni. The construction is rock solid - Ooni is flimsy in comparison.

Way better construction than an Ooni. I use mine every week and have done for years. Throw in pizza after pizza with no waiting in between means you can share 6 pizzas with the family in less than 10 minutes. You’ll save a fortune on takeaways, tastes better than a restaurant (or at least as good as) and you can use real high quality ingredients. No brainer…! (edited)

The included pizza peel looks a bit pointless? You need a wooden one to make and launch them on. And cheapest metal one you can get for turning and removal.

There are some comments here that these are somehow quicker due to thicker stone than an ooni. Even if that is true (which I don't see how) unless you've got pre made pizzas stacked (who does????) then it won't be reflected in real use

I'd decide based on size you want as prime decision making point. With either an ooni or roccbox you'll need wooden peel. And Ooni an roccbox accessories like the peels are way overpriced (edited)
The spade like tool included is also know as a launch. Metal is way better. You make the pizza on the worktop, then pick it up with the launch. You can’t do that with wood.

The peel is the circular thing that you use to spin them when they’re in the oven. That’s not included.

It’s quicker because the thicker stone retains heat longer, but it does take longer to get to temperature.

My routine is as follows…. 35-40 minutes to heat up. My wife makes the pizza, I cook them. We can do 6 in 10 minutes. Then we eat them as a family and they’re all still hot.

You can’t do that with an Ooni. (edited)

Due to the thinker stone the gozney will take longer to heat up but will cook more pizza before needing a recharge. The gozney has a rolling flame design which arches the flame over pizza similar to a dome oven. I got the koda 16 due to the inverse square rule creating a large zone for even cooking compared aginst the koda12 but i would like to try the gozney one day.
