Which store was this?

really?

Apparently according to this site your level of parenting is defined by how much you spend on a car seat (similar to what name you give your child). Therefore if you spend less than £150 on a car seat you are a disgrace.

sorry to upset you but this got 20% in Which? and a "Don't Buy" award?

I'm not I'm the "more expensive is better" club but I listen to good advice like Which?

My daughter has the pink version of this seat and i've not had any problems. Its lasted 3 years so far. What did which say ?

Which is notorious for giving bad and outdated advice, such as saying every bike should come with a chain guard and footstand!

I have this carseat, its fine as a backup for short journeys but is made from hard, brittle plastic and has a pennypinchingly thin cover- almoat child cruelty if they sit in it for more than ten miles!

i got this car seat for my son 3 years ago and still going strong, my parents got one for my sister and that too, lasted for ever, not bad if you ask me, if they was that bad they wouldn't be able to sell them......

What's your point? I never had an issue with people using which, what I have an issue with is people saying the cost of the carseat defines how good a parent you are according to this site!! Just getting it in there before they all came flocking.

Any recommendations for decent ones?

Good price if its a real deal. Nationwide?

What store is this?

IS THIS NATIONWIDE

GOOD PRICE

I've had the pink one for about 3-4 years - easy to put in and out, adjust/remove the backrest etc.

does exactly what it says on the tin really.

Have some heat

top price if you can get one.
I know, I am a bad parent, I should spend a lot more on a car seat, I know, I know...
Great seat by the way Its a booster seat with removable back.

Very good seat and easily adjustable.

I was given my parenting lessons from Satan in person so I got one of these a few years ago when it was £15 in Asda. Great seat, no problems.

Sorry, must dash - Lucifer is coming round for a barbecue.

I would have thought my point was a bit obvious but seemingly not:

1. I agree with you that there are a few kiddy snobs on here that think you have to spend a lot on a car seat to get a safe one.
2. I tend to agree with you that the people who say that aren't necessarily correct.
3. However in this case it would seem that spending less is dangerous for your childs health.

Lots of people saying they have this seat and had no problems... thats great, i'm sure everyone says that until they have a crash. Most people will probably never have a crash so no problem. If you do though........ I agree that Which? aren't perfect but you can't deny that they crash test all of the seats to more stringent standards than the testing agency for car seat safety do.

We have had this seat 2 years for our son & it hasnt been a problem, paid £25 at ASDA's baby event for it so this is a fab price!

We bought one of these seats during an Asda baby event, took it out the box this week to try it out and personally I think it's terrible. We paid £25 or so with the idea of using it as a backup however I'm not even willing to use this as a backup seat as it's so hard and moves around all over the place. I know how to put a car seat in as we have had all sorts of other brands but this one really does not seem safe to me at all, as far as I'm concerned it's destined for the tip. I thought about using the booster part but I may as well use a concrete slab.

HI. any one knows which store have availble pls.

had one a while but after redaing which mag im getting a more expensive one

Good price.

Usually you'll find something similarly priced at the end of the Asda baby events

I am sure every carseat is fab with no problems...............until you are unfortunately in a crash, and the amount of damage to your child really could depend on the type of carseat your child is in.

When it comes to carseats unfortunately, and I hate this, but in a lot of cases the most expensive carseats are better when it comes to safety than cheaper carseats.

If you really only have £12.50 then I guess this seat is better than no seat at all for your child.

must be "super safe" for 12.49.....NOT
besides a car seat for a baby should be facing backwards, not forward! ridiculous english law!

thanks .bought 3 for friends and family @ £12.49.

I hate it when people say fine for short journeys, you do know people have car accidents on short journeys too?

As ellie says, better than nothing if you can only afford £12.49.

am I missing something here? this is just a high back booster seat, so it does what it says, a booster seat with a seatbelt guide. you can't get any high back booster seat with better protection because then it wouldn't be a high back booster! If you choose the wrong sized seat of course its gonna be unsafe, but thats not graco's fault, thats the person buying it..

So if you agree with me, then why would I be upset?

I did not mention anything about this particular seat!!You have replied to my post with a point that is completely irrelevant to what I have said. Nowhere did I mention anything about quality of seat, which magazine etc... I merely stated that some people will have a go at people who buy cheap car seats regardless of quality. You have even agreed with me in your first point......so I will ask again what is your point (you may think it is clear, but it is in fact a seperate point, so why reply to my unrelated comment)??

Morrisons doxford park, Sunderland had about 8 left on the shop floor. I've just purchased 2. These are great little car seats, using the same one for my son at the moment. Great value at this price. Heat added.

Just all do your research before buying a car seat, this would have only been tested in a front collision at 30mph

These aren't for babies, these are for children that are 15kg+

Picked one up in Morrison Ecclesfield for £12.50 just this morning - before reading this thread obviously.
Will have a good look and take it back if it's not very good.
There were at least 3 left.

As for Which, I once read a review about laptops which was complete and utter garbage - I haven't even bothered to look in an edition since as it was obviously that they were totally clueless.

In sweden most kids rear face until 4 years of age. So no, not only babies face the rear. Rear facing is up to 5x safer than forward facing specially before 4.

Just picked the last 2 up from welling store must say there pretty good

I heard somewhere that they are going to introduce this in the UK as law, I hope they do, there are lots of videos on YouTube displaying the benefits during crash testing. I think many more people would already do it but as the seats are ridiculously expensive they are put off.

Seriously, don't worry about it. I give in oO

morrisons in walsall also have them

I have this seat- the only negative is that is NOT suitable for sleep in the car. If you travel a lot - is not the perfect one!!!

Am i missing something here , but everyone is ranting about the safety of this seat , yet surely the better option would be to have a safer car in the first place.

exactly what I was thinking these seats have to go through the maximum possible testing before there even considered to be able to be sold
