Great price. What's the verdict on the vendor?

50/50 from previous postings, I've never had an issue with them personally
MrSwitch would you buy this or a Redmi 8t from Three

8t for me mate.
Good phone, but I'd much rather have the Huawei P20 which is it's sister phone, but has OIS so the camera is noticeably better in low light, and also has a much faster and more reliable fingerprint scanner.

Don't think p20 had ois. P20pro perhaps?
Im using this phone as a temp before the 865 chip comes in. Its verryy good, quick and smooth. Im not bothered about camera quality but everything else is great

Definitely OIS on P20 non-Pro. Have seen the module with my own eyes. Doesn't use it in all video modes, mind.

Well, forum.xda-developers.com/hua…877

anandtech.com/sho…w/9

The P20s have the same limitations as past devices where higher framerate and higher resolution recording above 1080p30 aren’t able to use features such as EIS (electronic stabilisation). For the P20’s, this is of particular concern as the camera don’t have any OIS.

I think Huawei would have told us if P20 had Ois don't you think?

Huawei didn't market the P20 as having OIS, because the supposedly superior P20 Pro does not have OIS (they hadn't worked out how to fit in OIS on such a large sensor module), and presumably they didn't want to confuse buyers as to which has the better camera. But having disassembled several P20 non-Pros for repair, I can confirm they have modules with OIS, and several other sources bear that out (e.g. gsmarena ;other threads on xda).

You say p20, which is smaller, has OIS and p20pro doesn't? According to videos from teardown P20 Pro has at least 1 camera with OIS trustedreviews.com/news/huawei-p20-pro-teardown-cameras-ois-3449394

Lol well ok - the link you provided to say the P20s don't have OIS also says the P20 Pro doesn't have OIS, so I don't think we can trust that now can we? Huawei doesn't market either phone as having OIS, but I've never opened a P20 Pro to check. I have checked the P20 though. Anyway, all a bit irrelevant on an Honor 10 deal. I'm off to take some nice blur free OIS photos on a P20.
