Google warranty even covers 1st gen, bought one through Ebay and I was covered. Awesome (after that got this and Home Max)

Any advice how to register for warranty? Thanks

Sure, check here once you have your device, if it was sold new (which in the case of Laptops Direct ones it normally is) say, 9 months ago, it will still have the Google direct replace / repair warranty on it for the other 15 months, each Pixel 2 XL, sold new, gets 2 years Google device warranty as standard.

Warranty Remedy

If a defect arises and you return your Phone during the two-year Limited Warranty period, Google will replace your Phone with a new or refurbished Phone functionally at least equivalent to yours. If Google replaces the Phone, the replaced Phone will continue to be warranted for the remaining time of the original warranty period. All returned parts for which you have received a replacement will become the property of Google. Nothing in this Limited Warranty will reduce or otherwise affect your statutory rights in relation to the Phone.

To make a claim under the Limited Warranty, go to g.co/pixelcare. We’ll need your name, contact information and the IMEI number on the packaging and in the SIM tray.

You will need to provide a purchase receipt. Please refer to the Privacy Policy for more information on how we handle that data, google.com/pri…acy. No employee or representative of Google or its affiliates or any third party is authorised to make any modification, extension or addition to this Limited Warranty. If any term of this Limited Warranty is held to be illegal or unenforceable, the remaining terms of this Limited Warranty will remain in full force and effect.

Had a fair few from LD now, the grade B is a bit like the grade A at cex.. if that helps in anyway!

With the warranty period, once you add your device IMEI # to either your Google account or via one of those pages, it will state how long (if any) the period is left, keep in mind, that a lot of the refurbished / graded handsets from all these suppliers are not brought in off the street from the back of a shed, from the "potential owner" like with cex, they are mostly just customer direct returns and have a much higher chance of never being registered, thus never having a claim via Google made.. if you do need to claim and get a replacement, it will likely come in an OEM plain box, not a Google box

As soon as you get it, give it the clean & lean treatment and get all the junk in the trunk (even though it has been wiped by LD tech teams anyway) off of it and flash a full Android rom on it! (if you want to of course!)

Ahhh!!! Me saying flash Android 10 Qbert, must have been like asking Beckham to bow in front of the queen.. a waste of breath!!!

Still got one myself, keeping up with the newbies in my top 5 collection of daily drivers and still my go to, for everything, pure, can do it all flagship phone, not far behind my Mi Mix 2s, but only really down to the fact the battery is slightly better

If the condition is not up to the condition listed, just send it straight back for an exchange or refund, LD are good like that!

The bit many people come unstuck with is the proof of purchase - and depending on how annoying the rep you’re dealing with is, this can be a dealbreaker as many second-hand purchases are via unauthorised resellers or private sellers. Any ideas?
I cannot stress how good stock Android is, I "upgraded" to a galaxy s10 from a pixel 2xl and have regretted it. Great phone
I have bought from laptops direct twice before and there grade b is very good. I bought a pixel 3 from them which was grade B which had 1 minor scuff on the rear. One came fully boxed the other didn't.

I should really stop looking at hot deals at the weekend. I know own 4 phones

I think many of us are phone addict We don't need phones but we keep looking and buying... Like you I have 5 phones (three Huawei, one Samsung and one LG)

That's not my experience, but 3a is also very good according to reviewers, once price gets closer to £300 it can be great buy

My fear with the 3a is that the parts inside will slow to a crawl faster than usual as they've not really beefed up any specs compared to the 2/2XL (which for all it's failings with the screen, at least it's specs are respectable for a 2017 launch).

Well actually they downgraded specs (except camera) on purpose, to hit a mid-market price point, but I wouldn't be too worried because mid-range processors & screens now so good, even quality build is superb despite cheaper materials.

Pixel 3a even beat Pixel 2 on some benchmark tests, I think they both can go on for 2 years easily, thanks to excellent support.

With bigger batteries, less power drain and better optimisation, 3a could be best midranger of 2019, we'll see. Camera-wise towering above mid-market atm
