I bought a refurb Nokia 8 a while ago and it was too unreliable with random reboots and camera problems that plague this phone.
Don't do it...this is what is happening to many of them. If it hasn't happened to yours yet, it could be just a matter of time...

Mine had a weird blue tint to the screen that could not be levelled out

My dads straight up died

Mine would random restart

And then would random shutdown, only plugging into the charger would it come back on even with a fully charged battery

This happened to me a month after the warranty ran out. Nokia weren't interested. Phones was in pristine condition otherwise & very well looked after . I loved it & prior to this happening would have recommended the phone to anyone but apparently this is a known fault & Nokia chose to ignore instead of recall or offer compensation to customers

Maybe 10% affected?
Doubt more, phones made by Foxconn

My Nokia 8 in excellent health. This company has very good CS, bought laptop from them. Excellent service, they really went extra mile

No problems with mine either, although is the 4/128 I got. Brilliant phone, maybe not exceptional in any aspect, but Nokia makes good phones. Price is meh tho, I paid about the same for the 128gb almost a year ago.
No issues with mine, 2.5 years
I've just replaced my Nokia 8 with a mi mix 3 5g after 2.5 years of solid use and it has been an excellent phone.

If you have the 128gb model then surprise! - you will have 6GB RAM in there I have the same.
I absolutely love the Nokia 8. It is such a brilliant all round phone. But the screen did go funky on my original one like in the pics above and they replaced under warranty - actually upgraded me to what looked like a brand new 128gb/6gb.

It randomly reboots a couple of times a week lol but as an overall package which is now over 2.5 years old, it's still a remarkably good phone and I really wish they would make a successor which is the same dimensions and weight and newer spec. Always planned to get the Nokia 9 but it never happened and they already don't seem to be making them any more

I thought the same, that there was a mistake in the listing, and got a phone with 6gb ram. Unfortunately there are 2 versions, one 4/128(which is very similar with the 4/64) and the 6/128, the Sirocco if I remember right. But yeah, happy with phone, using it till now, miles better UX than the Sony and LG I had at the time. Still I ll go for a Nokia 9, if I'll find it at the right price refurb.

Oh right so you have the Sirocco? That's actually a (very similar but) different phone to the original Nokia 8:

My mistake, you are right, Ive got the exact same phone as you do. Thanks , didn't know that, thought only sirocco was coming with 6gb of ram. That's why still holds so well. But then again, it's still a different phone from the 4/64, maybe the first batches had all these problems mentioned above, and been fixed on later ones like ours.

Seriously? Had mines over a year and it still lasts most of a day on a charge. I'm an HGV multidrop driver and it easily copes as a sat nav and music player for a shift plus the camera is brilliant! I've dropped it from my truck seat to the solid ground a few times and there's a tiny wee crack now on the top right corner that barely effects the phone anyway.. my bad since phones aren't designed for that height drop to the floor once nevermind several times, but hey, it still works fine 🤙
Had my Nokia 8 over 2 years, great phone, kid has one also, been great phones. Still performs very well, not needing to change. Fast charging really useful tho still holds a charge well including with frequent use.

We bought them a week apart from the same CPW store sim free, possibly the same batch

Definitely not the phone in general. This one's been a star. Maybe you just hit bad luck on the batch. Don't get me wrong, I want a new phone now but that's only through greed
EE/Nokia Never again

Ooh, that's excellent, was it still under warranty? Others, who's warranties expired when it happened, got nothing.

It was like a month within it. Though because it's a common problem, if you fill in the online form and send it back, they usually just sort it out.

How do you know for sure? Anyone you know whose warranty had expired was successful in getting a free replacement like this?
Also, was it free to return? In other words, did you have to pay delivery charges or did Nokia cover it / provided a freepost address?
