I know grade B phones from cex can be hit & miss, some coming in mint condition boxed with accessories, and some coming as if it has gone 20 rounds with Mike Tyson.

But you are able to return within 14 days if it's no good, sacrifices you make if you want a bargain device.

All the below come with varying locks

(all market leading prices for grade B refurbs)

Vodafone can be unlocked after 30 days with a sim inserted and minimal use.

EE unlock for £8.99

O2 unlock for free I've been told

@Mrswitch thanks for all the effort in all the posts you do - I'm always impressed. 🙏
I spoke with EE a couple of days ago about unlocking my old S8 and they're asking £8.99 to do the honours....

Cool, nice helpful comment there, and thanks for the appreciation, I'll update the op
Thanks
EE won't unlock unless the phones are older than 6 months, just so people are aware.

Very cexy deals. Heat
Would consider the moto if it were dual sim
Anyone know if unlocking voids the cex warranty?
Sret43rg24/07/2019 19:17

It does yeah

Even though its done by the network provider?
Mi 9 SE and mate 20 pro standout to me, nice one as ever @Mrswitch

Is the Huawei thing all sorted now, or us it still best to avoid?

All existing flagships are already confirmed to have Android Q so I wouldn't be concerned
No iPhones?

Excellent. Thanks

No iPhones?

Most are cheaper at other retailers, in fact 99% of them are, so I'd be a hypocrite if I put them in here from cex, with them not being the market leading price
I paid £364 for a "B" s10e using the 20% ebay code, and it arrived in what i would call as new condition, not a mark on it
I don't like these big megafreds tmi for my little brain to comprehend, I need to be baby fed a little at a time 😁

I haven't read through this post to know if anyone else has advised but EE's T&C's are online. There was something about phons should unlock automatically after 18 months (may have been just iPhones OR everything but iphones). There was something else than you can request the unlock after X months (6?) And it's free.
My girlfriend just got an XR, my other sim is in her iPhone 7. She called EE to request the phone be unlocked (it's about 19 months old) and explained the situation. She said it'll be £8.99, I said I thought it was free because of XYZ in T&Cs and she said yes ok and now it's essentially unlocked. I think it was automatically unlocked already anyway and just needed a new sim popping in the phone to "finalise", but my point is they will try to make you pay £8.99 but should still be able to do it for free, just gather your Intel first and politely push a little. Good luck

Heya, so yes , the additional info I got from EE (and forgot to mention) is if the phone goes out of contract then it will be free to unlock. Only £8.99 to unlock whilst in contract... well that's what I was told anyway!

Ive just looked and that's the same on their website. Only iPhones unlock automatically (after 18 months). So for your Samsung it's £9 or wait it out.

Thanks for the confirmation.
Fortunately I am transferring back to Vodafone within 48 hours so not long to wait! 🙌
Messaged you switch if you got time to answer
never bought a graded device from anywhere. I see they have Grade C S10 Plus for 450/460. What's difference between B and C?

Also some 512Gb S10 plus grade C for £530. Wondering if worth a punt. If it's battered return to local store for refund and try again?

Grade C means that the phone is working, but the phones are heavily abused and probably battered. I'd go for Grade B minimum at CeX.
