I can assure you they are not. The sony's ARE way comfier though. The Grados are in a different league. Problem is that your ears hurt after a while.

By what I assume is your logic: better to buy the PS1000's!

Quality headphones, have a set myself and love them

I can assure you they are far better, Grados have no bass - the Sonys perform throughout the entire range not to mention keeping everything crystal clear, those Sony's far out perform this particular set of headphones.

I think you need your ears syringing ;-)

Each to their own. I have tried both, the grados sound better to me, but I could not wear them for more than an hour at a time. I could wear the Sony's for a lot longer. I guess the Sony's are more livable-with for this reason alone.

I could say the same about you, I have also personally used both, these particular Grados are lacking any depth / bass whereas the Sonys produce an all round experience not to mention barely any sound leakage to annoy anyone - the Grados will annoy anyone you are near if you prefer to listen to music particularly loud. As for comfort I did notice the Sonys were comfier but I didn't have the Grados on for longer than 20 minutes (my friend owns this exact set).

The Sony's have exaggerated bass, the grados produce true sound. You really cannot compare them.

Do you even know what you are talking about? Exaggerated bass? These arent DRE BEATS

The Sony earphones have a large 50mm driver unit and the frequency range is incredible more incredible than thos Grado's.

Exaggerated bass dont make me laugh, at least they have bass and true sound? When the earphones cant deliver decent low frequencies how can it be considered true sound?

the low frequencies reduce the clarity of the high end -

whathifi.com/rev…0dj <- this review thinks the same.

However, it's horses for courses. some people like the bass, others don't. People like different headphones for different reasons (especially the type of music they listen to).

I cant believe my eyes, that is one load of rubbish right there, clearly have something against the brand - look at hundreds of user reviews on these earphones - not one person has this view at all, the sound clarity is the reason I love these headphones.

The main reason I liked these above anything else was the lack of muddled frequencies the clarity on the highs and mids are astonoshing while still delivering incredible bass.

I think some people must have cloth ears

Yeah I think they must

Lol you seem to be on your own in this thread. If you think the Sony's are so great then start a thread and lets see how Hot they get.

To be fair, I think 'barryl85' has already posted a link to the cheapest place to get the Sony v700dj's

IMHO, if you want Sony buy the Sony MDR-V6. A lot better balanced

I just wanted to save anyone the hassle of having to return these earphones, I have personally used them and know they aren't the best out there for that kind of money and I also offered a suggestion.

When you grow up and learn that directly insulting (or should I say trying to) someone on the internet is an immature/childish/pointless thing to do come back to me with your suggestions.

Based on my experience with both sets of headphones I decided to offer a better alternative - I cant see whats so wrong with that.

Nothing wrong with that, at all. I was merely jesting, not exactly insulting. If you actually read what I wrote, the you will see that I was suggesting that everyone may prefer different phones, as they hear/prefer different things....
