My Klipsch reference cans are junk after 18 months (almost) so something got sold and now i have some ££ for some new headphones. (true story)

WEDNESDAY EDIT: amazingly these Grado SR80e also went south on me after less than 9 hours use! so there getting sent back.

Same price on Amazon and surprisingly fulfilled by SevenOaks themselves. But... buy via their own online shop and its the same price with the same free delivery but you also get the official Grado case gratis.

The official case retails usually at £20 -£25 so its a pretty decent freebie. fwiw case can acommodate: SR-60e, SR-80e, SR-125e, SR-225e, SR-325e, RS-2e and RS-1e, PS500e.

Reviews are top notch for the price bracket. Price at Grado themselves for the same is £129.95. Free next day delivery, but its £35 more.

Add both to the basket for the reduction.

I have these and they are very good although I only paid £50 for mine two years ago. I guess they went up in price, not sure if I would pay £90 for them now.
Used to have a set of these , sold them as the sound was too clean , also had to replace the earpads after a few years as they go all brittle and fall apart , great headphones though , moved onto Beyerdynamics DT250's after selling the Grados. These are better pads for them and a lot cheaper than the originals, yellow though . Earpads

Also keep an eye on the cup housings where the metal pin fits in as these can go loose, Grado replaced mine FOC though so no worries there .

On my sr80 the fit was near perfect , just a tad tight but they went over no bother.

The free Grado case fwiw.

The Grados sound good but they are open back so only suitable in-doors. The Foam ear pads are not great, thin and flimsy. There is no noise isolation.

They are irrelevant now that I have the Sennheiser Urban XL, which cost £70 from HMV and has more oomph to music.

Cheers for the info.

I would think most open back headphones have very little noise isolation.
Owned a pair of Grado's a couple of years ago and ended up returning them. Totally underwhelmed by the sound, fit and build quality - which was really poor.
I really wanted to like them after all the great reviews, but they just felt really cheap. More style over comfort

I've owned pairs of both klipsch and shure headphones all yank and haven't been impressed with build quality so it will be interesting to see if these are any different. Just curious where they this model's previous equivilant or one of the high end pairs?

SR80's which had exactly the same design, just a different driver inside. Hopefully you'll love them, I was just disappointed as they were so uncomfortable.

cex have a lot of grado headphones dont they! They do have these sr80e but they are actually A grade for £50 which is even better! They have them listed twice but afaik the sr80e are from the prestige series sp its a duplicate item.

Headphones are one thing i would never buy used though.

fwiw mine arrived earlier today. Great sound, open back is a little different to what i'm used too but its cool. The headband though! (or rather lack of one) already sourcing a 3rd party one.

Build quality is about what i thought it would be, definitely some overhype re these but i knew that before buying and i'm still glad i did. Just 1 day in though so early day never mind early days.

The hard case is pretty decent.

well, this post is in danger of becoming the most boring diary ever but i need to update it.

They've tanked.

Less than 9 hours use and i've noticed a fault. There now packaged up and ready to go back. I wont expire the post as the offer hasn't expired but as great as they sounded i cant honestly endorse them as a good buy after that!
