hot!

How much for an average racing game?????? Collectors edition or not £85, ouch!

That is pricey for the game however though it is the cheapest place to get it from, so for those that want the signature edition this is a good deal, which of course what this site is all about.

Good game, but bot as good as F1 2010

I cant view the link at work, what is so special about it to be £85? What does the extra £55 buy you?

Must get a car with it at that price.

Ok, just looked on amazon and its £202 OUCH!

So good find and a good price in comparison but seems a bit od a con to me.

OP, would help if you put a few more details in the description as I think this will get very cold as people will asume its for the standard version.

Great game but with these extras how can anyone justify paying this much money? Let alone the full prices listed elsewhere!!

not unless your are a big fan, or like collecting stuff

also the model car in this set has been sold on its own for £45 on ebay

everyone is voting cold because they dont think its worth it, this is the cheapest you can get this package
Edited by: "unknown-singh" 16th Dec 2010

I dont hink its worth it but I still voted hot as this is the cheapest price for it.

Original Poster

So where can you get it cheaper!!!!!!!

CRAZY

Yes it's a good deal.
For me it's a waste of money.
Plus I don't have a PS3.

Cheapest out there.
Hot from me.

Man it **** me off when people vote cold because they don't like the product/feel it's more than they'd pay. Go find it cheaper somewhere else and justify it or just don't vote. People who might want this might miss it and up paying an even more stupid price for this....

Also if anyone has lucky gamer code £10 off £50 it's even cheaper... just register a few email addresses and you might be lucky

Being the cheapest makes no difference, this simply isn't a hot deal..
Cheapest price doesn't necessarily equal a bargain

Hmmmm, so what you are saying that we should NOT post up the cheapest thing we find in ways of games/toys/holidays etc etc but post up what is a hot deal. So what constitutes a "hot deal" if it is not to be cheap?

Once again this is a good deal if the person is looking for this specific edition which makes it a "bargain" for them

Jay you post this on every post that is a product you dont like.

The fact is if you are looking for this product and the cheapest price for it then this is the site you would come to. If there are serious issues with a product such as a laptop/TV/ etc and it not being fit for purpose then yes i agree it is not hot even if its the cheapest. However with a product like this which the buyer will know exactly what they are getting as this is a specalist product then the cheapest price is a hot deal.

There are times when being the cheapest does not make it a hot deal as mentioned above but with a product such as this then yes if it is the cheapest it is a hot deal.

I think this is a very good deal for the signature edition so voted hot
Shame the signature edition is in my opinion useless :P

Not suggesting that at all, all i am suggesting is for people not to get so defensive when a deal hits cold.

Something i don't like? im playing GT5 right now, my opinion on the game or this deal makes no difference, i merely stated that the cheapest price does not guarantee a hot deal.

Not seen anyone in this thread yet who has actually ordered at this price..

Think the point is this shouldn't get cold.....

Well, ok, but it certainly ain't hot, its gone from massively overpriced, to slightly cheaper than massively overpriced. It may appeal to 2 people, as i said, not seen anyone say they have bought it at this price. Find me 1 person who ordered and i will vote hot..

Correct.

JayJay you did have not said what constitutes a "hot deal"

Well, i don't make the rules, this deal is cold according to HUKD, if i were to guess, i would say the ideal definition of a hot deal, would perhaps be a deal where you can't resist but to purchase it, even if you don't need it..

Not seen anyone fighting over each other to get this at this price, have u?

Edited by: "jayjayuk1234" 16th Dec 2010

I do not see anyone fighting over it, but in the same way that I have NEVER purchased something even though I do not need it. So I take it then I do not think any deal is hot oO
Edited by: "achapman" 16th Dec 2010

good price, shame its still so high, voted hot - will wait till it becomes sub £30

I'd never buy this set as the extras don't interest me but my logic is that this is just my preference on whether I'd buy it and not whether it is a good deal. Based on a mix of things (price, stock, fan desire etc.) I think it should be hot. In the end its come down quite a bit and like others said the figure can be sold for £45. This is like when I got my Halo reach set for £77, sold the codes for £35 and walked off with the figure, collectors edition stuff and game for £42.
Fans of the game may want this so hot from me.

I bought it yesterday for £84.99, using the festivefiver voucher code. At 12 noon game.co.uk had over 60 orderable, come midnight they had less than 35 . . . so maybe that can be thought of as 25 orders.

In my view it's a hot deal, but I agree with most it's still overpriced, especially as the competition is likely too late to enter (specifically too late to catch up with those that started early December).

All I really wanted was the extra 11 cars and the 'full 300 page version' USA Apex book. I would have liked that in the UK collectors edition, listing at £60 but they didn't (but BestBuy has UK Collectors for £48). I bought my first copy of the game for £20 from PC World, then bought a 2nd copy from them for £32 (which I 'm gonna take back, so the upgrade to signature was £53 for me).

I bought the PS3 and wheel only for this game in Nov 2010 from Sainsburys following HotUKdeals post, had been using a PS2 for 10 years with GT3 (GT4 had bug with controller so couldn't run analogue sticks with steering on right and throttle/brake on left, so gave that away).

For anyone wondering how the value (using the word loosely) 'might' be accounted for by likeminded purchasers with more money that sense ;-)
Coffee Table Book £4
Metal Keyring £4
Leather Wallet with competition entry card £4
Model Car 1:43 Mercedes Benz £10 (£30+ on shop.mercedes.com)
USB Stick £4
UK Apex Handbook £8 - I would prefer the USA edition maybe worth £14 to me (for list of all cars/tracks)
5x Chrome Line Cars £6
6x Stealth Cars £14
TOTAL £54

To buy those cars in the game is about 17 million credits, and that's about 17 hours of (to me boring) grind repeating races that pay out big, but are round less fun (to me) cars and tracks.

So I can spend the time driving the cars I like - the RUF RGT on a controller - and the Nissan GT-R GT500 and Mercedes SLS AMG Stealth on a wheel - on the tracks I like. Also if I do do some grinding, then I can poor mileage on the engines and crash without fear, knowing it's only 500Cr to fix, and not for example the 50k my RUF Yellow Bird needs to rebuild the engine every time I drive it round the ring.
