Now the PS4K is all but confirmed, I fully expect the game to be put back a year so they can exploit the better hardware

Maybe this has already been optimised for PS4K knowing Sony. They kept a tight lid on this apart from coming out PS4 with VR support.
£40 for half a game?
What the hell is it with GT games and the will they/won't they dribble releases? The PS4 has been out for nearly two and a half years and PD are still mucking about with almost-but-not-quite stuff like this. Last gen was the same IIRC.

Apart from anything else, there still isn't a AAA split-screen local multiplayer racer on the damn console!
ps4k will not be able to run games in 4k. it just means u can watch YouTube n Netflix in 4k

I have lost absolutely all interest in GT releases now. Such a drama over over one.

Clearly poorly informed articles. Current super high-end PCs with £1000 graphics cards struggle to run games in 4k. Playing back media is anoyher thing. sure you could probably play an indie pixel gsme in 4k, but why bother?

Taken from common sense. The rumored hardware would be nowhere near powerful enough to output games at 4K. Unless your talking about small indie games like super meat boy.

This, I acknowledge, is all speculation at this point and I'm merely playing devil's advocate here.

Either way, you'd expect developers to tap into that performance boost in much the same way they do for PC games. The console platform certainly just got a whole lot more interesting.

The point is, even with that increase, it is still far too weak for 4K gaming, even for 1440p gaming it would struggle. Yes it will mean they can up the graphics settings for 1080p (Better view distances, AA, all sorts) and output at a full 60 fps but that is about it.

The hardware cost for 4k from a consumer perspective you are looking at around £900 just for the graphics cards.
