Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V) - PS4 and Xbox One - £28 via Groupon/Very

Found 23rd Feb 2015
Groupon are running a deal where new Very customers can buy a £50 voucher for £25.

Use this voucher on the Very site to buy GTA V for £53, and you can get it for £28 in total (ie. the £25 Groupon payment and the extra £3 you'll have to pay Very).

Make sure to order shipping via Collect+ for free delivery.

Links to the game in the first post.

(With thanks to RogueS for giving me the idea with the Dualshock 4 deal.)

Also, it's worth noting that when they charge you for the order, Very will likely charge the full £53 and then immediately credit the £50 voucher back to you, because of the way they process the Groupon vouchers.

So don't worry if you initially see the full amount charged to your method of payment.

COLD

This isn't a deal, the voucher bit is a deal and only that should be posted, with suggestion of getting GTA V with it if you think that's a good buy, otherwise we'd have hundreds of new deals posted today using this voucher.

I'm sure you can see that is ridiculous.

That happens all the time with discount codes X)

We've been through this before.

It's perfectly fine to post deals that use vouchers if they're good deals. If it wasn't ok to do so, the mods would delete them.

If you don't like it, then fine - vote cold, it's your prerogative. But I really do find this recent anti-vouchers movement baffling. You come to HUKD to find good deals, right? So why do you think that using vouchers is some form of 'cheating'?

This isn't even a discount code, it's a voucher.

Anyway, robo989 is obviously correct, I think we should outlaw any posting of any deal that includes an advantage that helps you save money off something. That's in the spirit of HUKD, right? (_;)

Some people do, solely.
Some people come to compete for want of a better word
Some people come to do both (me and the other people moaning).

This isn't the same as posting a deal for say tesco £10 off £50 included, money there get's taken off at time of purchase, there's no credit confusion and so forth.

Of course you can post the deal Just like I can vote cold and hope it deters people from doing it.

EDIT - An important point is that even with the voucher, it's not that good a deal - as in exceptional. There's been times in the past where Very deals have ended up with prices 1/3rd of normal price, in those situations most people are happy like with a Logitech G510 keyboard for £20 a few years ago, which a few members remember.

That is a deal, this is just cynical.

No I know, but I mean when there's a Tesco £10 off £40-spend code (for example) we get tons of different "deals" posted just using the same code etc.

Not far off it though. And you're missing my point, we still get various posts using the same discount code

Tesco will honour codes used by existing customers registering a different email address.
Tesco don't ever try and claw back the value of a code if they find out you are not a new customer.
Tesco don't have ridiculous RRPs so the above would be a problem

By my count, there have been five deals in the last five days using the Groupon/Very code.

It doesn't seem like overkill to me, but if people want to throw their toys out of the pram about it, that's their prerogative.

Hopefully this deal helps someone out either way.

Cynical?

I'm genuinely baffled as to what you're getting at.

Better to be baffled than offended so we'll leave it there

Saved me 7 quid as i was going to buy this today anyway.

Thanks op!

Final Thought: you all hold valid points, most of which we have all been guilty of, but at the end of the day this is a deals website and GTA V at £28.00 is a deal regardless of my personal thoughts on the rinse and repeat monotonous game

Hot

Quote me when this deal actually gets hot, it won't though as thankfully the majority of people appreciate what crooks Very are, the mark up is ridiculous, the fact your having to use a voucher or whatever to make it a decent price speaks volumes and even with that discount its still a 'meh' price.

And is the only reason why the deal was posted.

But well done to all those cold voters. Next time I find a good deal on something I'll think twice before bothering to share it.

I didn't know about the voucher either, but was drawn here by the GTA deal. I wouldn't have thought to order GTA V via Very and didn't know about the Groupon voucher, so hot in my opinion on all accounts.

Keep trying and posting deals DaveWallace, some of us on here still appreciate it.

Can't we just have 1 mega Thread about each voucher??

alot of people know about the voucher so they know how to figure out how much an item will be

I've used my first Groupon.

What are the chances I'll get caught out if I use another one. Just changing emails.

It's just for first Very accounts, not first Groupon accounts.

Can we buy PSN credit with the voucher? £50 credit for £25 sounds good to me.

Yes, although you have to have it delivered so it's £29 (no collect+).

Don't know what everyone is moaning about, was looking to buy this earlier and couldn't find a price close to this. Thanks OP, heat added :-)

No worries, glad it helped you out.

People are moaning because they personally dislike a particular type of deal for some arbitrary reason. It's getting increasingly prevalent on here unfortunately, so it means that some good deals are being buried just because people want to throw their toys out of the pram.

wtf! good deal.. i wouldn't noticed this if you hadn't posted it, so thanks even if it has gone cold, this site is about awareness of deals on a certain product. i wouldn't of been casually searching for voucher codes for very, therefore i wouldn't have known about it. cheers for posting buddy and have some heat for what it's worth

just ordered thanks op for a great deal can't wait for it to arrive and at £28 Very good!!!!!

Pretty much immediately - it happens on despatch. It will happen through the same method you used to pay with.
