1l is currently selling for less than the smaller 300ml bottles! Well-reviewed tech wash, suitable for cleaning waterproofs without ruining water repellancy.

As 1 x 50ml cap full is enough to wash a jacket, you can get 20 washes out of each 1L bottle. Or, up to 40 washes if you're washing base layers.

NOTE: It's an add on item, so you'd want to either buy 4, or add it on to a >£20 order, to benefit from free delivery.

EDIT: Now reduced further to £4! Have amended title.

I'll get the obvious question out of the way early - how does this compare to Nikwax's equivalent product?

Seems quite a lot cheaper than Nikwax but don't think I'd use anything else other than Nikwax. I'm guessing a few people will be able to comment further about a comparison having used both. Can't see this being a good though personally

Side by side I'm not sure whether there is much difference - they're both good brands, and after some cursory Googling it seems that tech wash is much of the same; soap based and gentle with zero detergents, so as to clean without damaging DWR coatings.

On some outdoor forums they actually suggest using liquid soap flakes to clean waterproofs with, at a lower cost than most branded tech washes!

However, having had a look around, and doing the maths, at this current £5 price point for 20 washes the Grangers works out better value than both liquid soap flakes & other tech washes (even the 'cheapest' own-branded tech wash, such as from Mountain Warehouse).

So I've taken a punt and stocked up on a couple of bottles for my Gore-Tex jackets. Should last a few years!
All of these tech washes are basically just pure soap. So using liquid soap flakes is just as effective.

Wilkos have liquid soap flakes for £2.75 for 750ml.
