Didn't he leave Wheeler Dealers as he was unhappy with the programme makers introducing product placement advertising?

He left because it became too american....
He had a youtube rant about why he left.

Bit of a girly whinge to be honest imo.

Has a YouTube channel.

Sadly it is basically dead, he also made a great new series but it didn't go beyond the pilot episode.
Thanks OP, downloaded

No idea why because he's very popular. The pilot series when he went to some scandanavian country to help a fella finish off his car was brilliant.

The producers wanted more talk and less spannering, look at it now with Brewer and Ant, all the interesting how to parts are reduced to brief fast edits. That's why Edd left.

The only skilled one on the show. No idea why they wasted their time with the other one.
Thought he left as didn't like direction Discovery were going. Discovery wanted less air time in the workshop as this was where most of the expense was. Shame really as you could trust Edd and Paul.

If you like wheeler dealers you may also like Shed and Buried, similar idea, bit more history to items and much funnier.
Wow huge price drop from its original price!

And introduction of stupid jokes and making cups of tea
He left because they have made hundreds of episodes and he gets paid repeat fees every time they are repeated , which is all the time.
He now drives s sofa and spends his time washing his planet of the apes t shirt

A bit like Top Gear then! Remember when they used to talk about our even review cars? Now it's just an entertainment show, which I still watch but the cars are like an accessory now...
I like the bloke. Not so much the baggy T shirt over a sweater look though.

I have to ask, lol. Why is he a slimy slug? I thought they were a good team together.
I'd really like to know what Brewer meant when he said Edd did some (very?) bad things.

What Brewer said doesn't quite gel with the dumbed down story. Basically Edd said the prog was being dumbed down away from the mechanical and electrical fixes which were important parts of the show. Brewer said Edd said he didn't need to do the mechanics etc because he was now a celebrity.

Maybe Edd wanted the mechanicals covered but didn't want to spend 50 man hours on the next nail Brewer brought to him. He wanted someone else to do the time while he did the TV coverage of the important explanations?

This fits. But the "bad things"???

He had the chance to do that on his YT channel but didn’t - in fact he sort of said to leave Mike alone...think is was called some like “we have to talk about Mike”

I love watching WD (repeats, not the one with the new fella ).

I wouldn't call Mike slimy but more sweaty/clammy.....

Heat, whilst we digress
I was under the impression there was more than just Mr China working on the vehicles, whenever something heavy or awkward need lifting that other chap showed up. Car S.O.S was always open about others working on those real shed mot failures which when looked up on the Gov mot site reveal most never had a second mot after the show. Personally I liked Fuzz and Tim Shaw but I'm sure he has his haters due to his exuberance.
