You're going to require further details if you don't want this deal to freeze.
e.g. What graphic card does it have?

not to rain on your little parade, that isnt that great for 500, sure its a mediocre deal, nice size monitor, decent hd, standard ram size, dislike the amd cpu, but its quad core at least, im more an intel person though... unless you can wow us with a nice graphics card then its a pretty normal price, maybe even overpaid for it

Need to provide a link to it too

If it is something like the one in the link then you over paid i'm afraid

If someone *is* a computer expert, IMO the only way to get a computer is to build one buying the case, motherboard, processor, ram etc. Will nearly always be a better spec at a lower price than a complete system (excluding Dell price mistakes courtesy of MikeT). You know exactly what goes into the system rather than choose the absolute cheapest like Dell et al do.

+1
Agreed. A real computer expert who was a friend would build one for you!
(the only problem is the damned lifetime tech support your m8's want afterwards ...:) )

Well I feel sorry for disco_diva who probably has done what a lot of first time posters have done.

They've made a purchase and attempted to vindicate that purchase by posting it as a "deal", only to be "reliably informed" that they've paid over the odds.

Must make them feel really low knowing (now) that it wasn't such a great deal after all.

I voted this cold as the same spec can be purpose built for a lot less than £500, despite what any so called experd (expert nerd) thinks is great.

Hundreds of people every single day pay over the odds for things, maybe £50, £100, £200 or more than the price something can be elsewhere and either don't have the skills or inclination to come on sites like this one to find it cheaper. If everyone did, many many high street companies would now be out of business! At least they didn't pay £600 for it

I'm sure that most people can deal with the truth anyway unless their life is already pretty cack and they're depressed and down

At the end of the day it's not the absolute worst deal. I am sure they will enjoy the PC and it is about its price. It's just money at the end of the day! Also, computers are so varied that it's difficult to keep track of what's worth what. Too many people look at the processor GHZ, the Ram, the size of the hard disk, the size of the monitor and think that's all there is to know about that PC. That's partly because these are the terms that PC world etc work with then they're selling.

all i can say is thanks alot you very nice people i can't believe what time an effort you have made to make me feel like an idiot!!my friend said to get a better spec he couldn't build one for that price!!also met many people with a 'personally built computer' who aren't overall impressed with the thing!!so once again thanks for the put down nasty comments etc and don't worry will never post again, will leave it to you experts!!for all those who aren't famailiar with computers i think it was a good deal save the bothering of waiting for someone to build it for you x:thumbsup:

You shouldn't take it personally, I don't think anyone ment to be nasty to you. When you post a deal here it is subject to everyone's personal opinion, and people are opinionated!!
Computer deals are often contentious, as the is so much competition and it is often hard to compare like for like.
If you know what you are doing , a custom built computer will be better than a "pre-built" one, as you can pick and choose the optimum parts, (a bit like hi-fi seporates) and you can tweak performance (overclocking etc) where most pre-built systems don't allow you to say, adjust the bus speed. There is a bit of a difference between someone who can put a computer together from parts, and a 'computer expert' who would know what combination will give you optimun performance for your money. I have been building systems for about 16 years, but still wouldn't consider myself an 'expert', (adept maybee )
I have posted many deals that went freezing, but that's inevitable as there will often be deals you are unaware of that make your deal look rubbish. You shouldn't give up just because your first deal went south
