Oh some harsh colding here; very good price @Plugman17 and anyone considering buying this it's cold because the OP said 'Should get boiling hot' (even though it's a play on words as explained above) rather than the fact this seems to be £70 to £80 everywhere else
Certainly is a turbo kettle, it’s cooled down very quickly!

Yes it was. But, not everyone on HUKD has the nous to work that out. Six years is more than long enough to realise that. I was just pointing out why it would go glacial.

I'm sure it's down to the wording; it could have flown and gone mega hot but once the chill set in then it was always going to attract more cold votes. Shame as it is a really good price. Better luck next time.

Proves the point I've been making for months, Andy. Heat ratings are meaningless. Someone needs to bite the bullet and get rid of them. I only ever look at the list of 'new' postings now.

TBH Kettle prices seem to have increased. The Bosch Skyline is now £70 it was only £45 when I bought it and the Cuisinart has gone up from £60 to £75 and that's in 2 years.

Ah, but that's the fun of HUKD. However I agree that looking at 'New' is the best way as you can miss so many awesome deals only looking at 'Hot'.

Yep, that;s what i've done for years. I'm not interested in the temperature. I scroll through the new pics to see if there is anything i like then see if the deal is good for me. Similarly, when i post deals it's to, hopefully, help others not for heat. Heat doesn't save me or anyone money.
I don't think people are just voting t cold for that reason u can pick up a good kettle for 5 quid I bought the asda one and it's very good vs the more expensive kettle I had before a Russell hobs or something that was very poorly designed it's was made of metal and got extremely hot and gave off lots of steam from a small spout so was more like a blast of steam burned my wife's arm and hand with the heat twice from that so threw it away. This is 3kw so is louder and most likely gives off alot of heat aswell so for this reason I wouldn't buy it u can pick up 3kw kettles for around 10 quid so this is a bit expensive not really a deal is it. It doesn't really have any her extra functionality like a 1 cup button or push button function which u can pick up under £30 quid so upto you in that one.

Was there a an investigation into why it blew up can't really think have a kettle could blow up like that as if the thermostat failed it should just carry on boiling until there's no water left and then cause the heating element to burn out very weird indeed. Lucky ur house didn't blow up the insurance wouldn't have paid out for leaving it unattended I think.

I didn’t pursue it because there were bigger fish to fry at the time. I agree with you, it does sound bizarre but in looking at the kettle I think what happened is the bottom cracked linking the element and water directly to the power in. The shock blew the top out and water went everywhere. Whatever happened it made a bang and the kitchen was flooded, mental how much water can come out of something so small lol

Edit: Don’t think a kettle would cause the house to blow up but if that was the case I would hope I wasn’t in the house, insurance or no insurance

If you’re trying to fry any fish in the kettle, let alone bigger variants, I think that’s where you’re going wrong... :P

Would that go nicely with some kettle chips??
Does the kettle fill itself and make the coffee too? It may be a reduced price but still seems expensive for a kettle. It's hardly high tech stuff.
Thanks for sharing! People making negative comments should be mindful that this may put others off posting, then where would HDUK be....
I think it's a hot deal no matter if it's more expensive than some other kettles, u get what u pay for... Matching kettle same price plus 20 pound discount for the first time buyers . Great deal thanks for sharing

Well somebody likes it as they are now out of stock. Mine turned up today and this does seem a quality kettle. Fast boiling relatively quiet and nice finish and pours well. Lid is fine nice fit and easy removal.
