You missed S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call Of Pripyat for £5, which is better than any of those listed above. Well, apart from the Thief games.

Baman!

Bioshock was awesome, couldnt stand number 2, felt like been there done it.

Do not buy Burnout Paradise. You can't activate the game online as EA have taken down the servers.

Also Civ IV is on Steam for <£4 including all expansion packs.

Arkham Asylum - my pick of the bunch.
Can't wait for Arkham City

Oops - just posted Ghostbusters for £5, didn't notice this deal! Some good bargains here, i'd get Batman and Borderlands if i didn't already have them. Not sure how good value the Broken Sword games are as i've seen them very cheap before elsewhere but they are awesome! X)

Can I buy that £5 ? Perhaps for £3?

I completely agree, the first one was amazing, and so engaging. The second felt like I was playing the first game, just from a different perspective. Not a lot was new, really. Because of that, I may miss the third one.

I've never had a problem, although I have the steam version. Don't know if it's the same as the retail, but I personally have never had a problem.

Don't forget about Unreal Tournament 3. That's superb.

I wouldn't buy TR Underworld as its on special offer on Steam for £3ish. Unless you want a boxed copy that is.

Good deal but you won't catch me buying games from anywhere other than steam.

I felt like that when I first started playing the second one, but as I got further into the game I really enjoyed it. I'll agree that it was still to similar, but great for a fiver.

The original Bioshock is also in this £5 deal.
So as someone who hasnt played either one, and given the above comments that there seems to be duplicate in having both, which is the best one to try, 1 or 2?
i.e Is number 2 actually better in some way, i.e is the engine refined?
Or would I be really missing out on the story by skipping the first one?

Steam is completly free of EA's DRM, The retail disc has software which monitors your game activity and can only be removed by reinstalling windows, They got successfully sued over it as its basically spyware.

It lets you install five times then thats it you had to ring up to attempt to get a reactivation. After Spore becoming one of the most pirated games ever from people wanting a cleaner pirated version lol they've relaxed it giving patches to reset the counters and steam etc are free from it all but Burnout, Mirror's edge, spore around that time have awful drm protection but only the retail copies.

most of these decent prie i guess but then most have been cheaper in the past
batman is great though

Borderlands ordered ta.

Pretty sure Steam has instal limits for some EA games.
Edited by: "MintMouse" 21st Feb 2011

Well, it wouldn't be Steam's limit, but the limit is there in some EA games with Steam.

Hitman - brilliant
