Great price for one of the best Chromebooks out there
Been keeping an eye out for top of the range Chromebook, stuck between the new ASUS C434 and this HP model. For this price it is well worth it.. If you are looking for a perfect Chromebook, this is a great price.

Normally 549/500 (fluctuates) , however with the 20% off ...
works out 439.20 delivered.

check this review out for example.

Very good price for this model.

Does this support android apps?
Any sub £500 Chromebooks that take a data sim yet?

Does this support android apps?

Yes and also support for Linux apps. A very good Chromebook for the deal price. I believe the Asus 434 is the better device (e.g. brighter screen, better build quality etc) but I suspect it will be significantly more expensive than the hp when it becomes available in the UK in any numbers. The 4gb ram variant of the Asus 434 ( vs hp x360's 8gb as std.) briefly appeared on Amazon UK at £599.
Only 64gb storage. Can this be upgraded or added to? Can you install office apps on these?

Haven’t taken the plunge yet but thinking we might get a big capacity card....something like this:

Very Hotdeal

I recon 400Gb should do it. And at this price you would kinda be getting the card free!

Brought it 12 days (for 499) ago, so kicked off a refund request (up to 14 days) online and then simply re-ordered at current price. Saved £60.. bonus

You lucky badger!
Very good deal, especially as it has 8GB of ram. I've got an Asus C302 with similar specs, but am a bit jealous due to this also having a full size USB port and Linux support. Asus have screwed their customers by not easily adding Linux support via a software update.
Taken the plunge and ordered. I fancied the HP wireless mouse, and found it in white at a bargain price at Currys PC World (probably worth a thread / deal on it's own), £11.99 delivered and TopCash cashback....

Thanks to OP, heat added.

Thanks, ordered.
Thanks op. Not sure I really, really, really need this but I've purchased it anyway. Hopefully it'll be good for work purposes and leisure, if so I'll sell my tablet to reduce the overall cost of this.
I take it this needs a usbc to hdmi cable to link it up with a projector? Will any usbc to hdmi do or does it need to be a specific one/type?
Thanks OP. Have ordered. Was looking to get a passive pen to go with it. Anybody got any recommendations?
By the way I currently have cashback tracking for this with Top Cash Back. Unsure if it will pay as using the 20% voucher; bonus if it does.

I'm not an expert, but I'd say go with your laptop link. It will be more familiar for her and it saves you some dosh.

Yeah, to be honest at least I know it’s a safer bet. The bendy chrome books do look cool but I don’t know enough about them and if it’s limited in anyway. And you’re right it’s more expensive to get the chromebk

Agree with the above two comments. Depends in part to what she is used to and how interested she is to learn a new OS. A Chromebook will do what she wants but a bit of faff is involved in learning Chrome OS, how to use compatible wp programs and using a Chromebook offline. There are several good Microsoft Office compatible programs available but to use the actual Microsoft android apps requires a monthly Office 365 subscription. Arguably well worth the effort for the other benefits Chrome OS brings but not for everyone.
