You can get much cheaper prices as student as well. But if you let virgin media auto renew your connection , or don't go back as new customer, they double the price .

What's the student price?
I can't see it getting Any cheaper than£36.67 for a student.
Also I'm sure students only pay for 9 months instead of 12?

Student deals are indeed for 9 months only and are currently only available for broadband rather than bundles with tv. For instance 50mbps is currently £34, 100mbps £39, 200mbps £44 and 300mbps £49. You can't get TopCashback on these prices either. I don't understand why people are voting cold to this deal unless they simply don't like Virgin Media.
This is a super hot deal. OP can you breakdown exactly what your getting as in Tv package Broadband speed etc
What cash back ur getting
And finally the total monthly cost excluding and including cash back so they guys can clearly see what they are getting.

I'm guessing is cold cos it's not crystal clear. :-):{

Follow the links he's included, it's broken down on the site for each ! Sky and virgin as bad as each other with new customer deals and then an annual haggle, just bring the overall prices down for all.....
I don't trust VM's price policies.

It may look like a good deal when you sign up, but after a few months your tariff start getting up and you have no way to avoid it.

If the price is raised after signing up for a VM contract, you are able to void said contract usually within 30 days of receiving the letter. If i remember rightly this applies to BB and not TV, but if you have a bundle then it applies to your entire package.
I have just cancelled Sky after my 12 month contract ends next month. I'm hoping they phone me back with a better discount as they still wanted double the price of my contract to stay with them. I really don't want to move to VM if i can help it, but i might just do it and then jump ship again in 12 months, pain in the ass but unless they offer you a decent discount there is no other way to get the prices down.

I don't know why I bother posting sometimes. Show me somewhere else where you get 100mbps broadband, the second to top tv package and weekend calls for £36.67 on a 12 month contract.

Well I appreciate it big time am about to resign after trying Sky for 30 days, I was going to use Quidco but didn't think of Topcashback, I have accounts on both but totally forgot. doh

I do appreciate it, even if i don't sign up. Going to try and use these prices against Sky as leverage lol
actually getting a little annoyed with virgin at the moment with prices rises and my package being so much more then this on just broadband and phone and with them not offering much for existing users.
Can someone just cancel and once done sign up to this?

Otherwise need to look for something elsewhere. of course at a much lower speed

Good offer if you don't know about it, but no need to rush as it's fairly standard - I actually got £250 in February, incredibly.

I hear Virgin won't do you any renewal deals until you've actually cancelled service, which after a year you'll want to do because the hikes are enormous (even ignoring cashback)!

Unconfirmed rumour says you'll be eligible for new customer deals (and possibly cash back) again after 3 months, or possibly a year, but not straight away unless you get someone else to sign up perhaps. I'll be moving to Sky or BT for a year before coming back.

Hi,

Yes I was told if i left it would have to be 3 months before being considered a new customer.

Will see if I get any call back or anything decent as in offers otherwise will look at alternatives.

Thanks,

The cashback on TopCashback has increased, see my post above. I had both Quidco and TopCashback but gave Quidco up when they kept failing to track and payout on my purchases even after using their dispute facility. TopCashback has never failed me.

If rise is above RPI then you can cancel without penalty. If you have just signed up you can cancel, within 30days I think.

You can't just cancel if you are in contract unless you pay to cancel which means paying for the remaining term of the contract. Whenever there is a price rise you get a period of time to cancel for free. Whenever you want to change anything on your account always go to the option for leaving, they are the retentions department and have the best leverage to help you.
Was thinking of giving virgin tv etc a go but never see any deals for there top package
Plus if you know anyone with virgin media that can refer you, you get £50 off your bill. Iv had that applied on mine when I first had it. Been with virgin media for about 7 months no problems so far

Got to agree witht he poster regarding Quidco, nothing ever tracks as it should, takes years or its refused. TCB are way better,
Back to Virgin, Has anyone jumped from Sky tv to Virgin tv with there V6 box.
Is it any good etc
Pity I don't get virgin in my area. However 2 doors down do 😩 my bt is about to run out too

If you are in the same street and it is cabled to some residents I believe Virgin will do the cabling for free to your house. Give customer services a call or have an online chat. If it's possible they will do it
It says cant get 300mbs in my area but can get up to 200mbs (Had it before and never got anywhere near it) shame the area is still over subscribed as i would be massivly interested in moving to VM as my sky deal has ended and there not playing ball.
Why so cold? I got the Full House package and cashback all £220 of it came through within about 2.5 months.

So I'm paying just over £34 for full house bundle.

Red hot imo

No problem. Would suggest you ask whether they can give you the service but don't get bullied into signing up over the phone or on chat. Go through TopCashback and order through the website. Then you get your cashback which they wouldn't offer you over the phone
The VIP deal is absolutely incredible. The top sky package in HD, with an extra box comes in at £93 a month and that doesn't include BT sport.

Factor in the standalone broadband costing over £40 a month from Virgin and you effectively have a top tier TV package with additional box for under £30 a month.

Given the sky offers seem to have dried up of late this is the best deal in the market right now!
I'm really strongly considering this deal but Virgin don't have Sky Atlantic and 12 months ago I had there so called vivid 200 fibre which to be totally honest was crap.
But it is a good deal for what it is
My sky notice is already in to cancel the tv and it goes off 19th/20th of this month and there still playing hard ball, just tried giving notice on sky telephone and fibre max but was told if i put my cancellation in bt wouldnt be able to take over my line???
Massivley tempted to try virgin again hoping after 12 months the high utilisation in my area is better (Do VM still throttle the crap out of there fibre at peak times)
Don't understand how this is cold,
Is the V6 box rubbish?
I only have sky+hd 2tb box is ithe virgin v6 better than the box i have?
I have no intentions of going sky Q

It most likely depends on your area, I live in a 100,000 person town and it's always 200mbps no matter what time of day on a 200 vivid package.

Likewise, my sky Q notice just went in and my broadband comes up for renewal in 2 months, I'm tempted to book this in as far away as possible then just cancel the installation if sky come back with a decent offer in the mean time.

Think from previous chats with Virgin isn't they a cooling off period were you can cancel and send all the kit back if not happy and no charges applicable
Also do virgin still do the 200mbs gamer broadband as there normal vivid 200mbs was cack

I seemed to remember reading somewhere it was a year?
Would I loose the £250 cash back as when I look on virgin site when ordering the deal it says that 300mbs is not available in my area so will have to have 200mbs which is traffic managed to death. Would TCB see I've not had Vivid 300 and cancel the cash back
I've just cancelled my Virgin Broadband after being with them for 18 years, I finally had enough of the discrimination against existing customers by them not giving fair deals and the constant price rises, the battle to try to get anything off is frustrating and the derisory discounts then offered after ages on the phone are insulting when compared to the deals new customers get. The almost £20 a month line rental is crazy, especially when if you try to cancel the phone line to save money the prices they offer without it just seem to include the cost anyway! I always liked the performance of their broadband but think its time for me to try another provider (thinking the Vodafone deal for £24 looks pretty good right now!), I can always come back in a year or so and get a new customer deal and then switch when the costs get out of hand again, a bit of a faff but seems to be the only way to be valued as a customer these days! That said, I do like what Sky are doing with their VIP programme at least they seem to be starting to care about their existing customer base...

I'm sure retentions will give you a deal when you've cancelled. They did for me a year or so ago when I cancelled the broadband.
Has anyone actually gone for the Virgin media deals who was on sky (Sky+hd) previously just wanted to know your thoughts regarding the tv part of virgin.

Is the V6 box better than the sky+hd box
Is the catch up and on demand decent
Is the HD quality ok
Do you miss Atlantic
Do you wish you'd stayed with sky for your tv or are you glad you moved

I would appreciate the thoughts and info from anyone who has gone from sky to virgin
Well decided to go for it. Just hope that TCB honour the £250 as I'm ordering the VIP package with 300mbs but virgin say I can't get 300 in my area yet but will have to have 200mbs.
Suppose I could cancel if it's crap or TCB don't track right

Thanks, we'll see what happens, they have until tomorrow otherwise I am going to go with the Vodafone offer, am getting £100 cashback on the Voda deal too so they will have to make quite a good offer to tempt me back now!

Just cancelled with Virgin, been with them for years and to renew they wanted to charge me £43 from £27 last year for broadband only, there broadband has gone to pot, it used to be perfect, now its a joke. you will be lucky to get half of the speed at peek times. sometimes id get 1 or 2 meg ,i paid for 200. everyone i know is the same.
