All for free?!?
Now that’s a steal
Yea!! We can go and see the crimes they don’t investigate and the investigations they botch up. The times they don’t turn up and the nepotism and cronyism that gets swept under the carpet
Count me out

Great museum. See how it was done in the Victorian times. And all for free. It's run by volunteers.

It's a museumlike any other museum up and down the country. The cops do a good job. Who would you ring if you got mugged. They struggle to keep the streets safe with minimal staff and cuts to services.
I think they do a good job.

You forgot to mention the masonic lodge?
Apparently lots of half eaten donuts on display.
Greater Manchester Police Cells, free entry - with every brick thrown through the station window.
I still remember when there was a police force. I worked for thirty years in one of the rougher areas of Lancashire. Each shift ( scale ) comprised one Inspector, two Sergeants ( one of which was a custody Sergeant ) and ten constables. The exact same area now has an Inspector ( covering a much larger area ), a shift Sergeant and Custody Sergeant and four constables. The incoming workload had stayed pretty much the same.

That's what happens when you cut 20000 police from the service, we still have crazy bureaucracy, we have poor leadership and a lack of planning from the middle/upper ranks. The call volume is ridic - people ring up for things that don't need police attendance/input. A significant minority can't control themselves when drinking/taking drugs. We end up being Social Services for a significant portion of our duties. But you're ok, sitting in your comfy armchair firing off rants on HUKD.
Perhaps you should join up and try it. Maybe be a Special? You could change the world!!
All of them must be in this museum, because they couldn't find the people who robbed us even they were captured on CCTV...
"And this is where we used to lock up criminals"
I got to go to the police station for free last week. Bed and breakfast included!
Sounds like a fair cop..

I agree. It is shame our government and justice system fails them. They take the trouble to arrest them and then the CPS wont let them press charges, or they press charges and it goes to court and they get a slap on the wrist.
The old coppers would have been ashamed of themsevles if their clear up rates were as bad as todays clowns .

Burglary clean up rates of 5% now WTF !

DNA , CCTV, FINGERPRINTING AND THEY STILL CANT SOLVE ANY CASES.
Perhaps op should should change title to "free entry in manchester museums" that way it won't attract the people that want to moan about the police and think a deal forum is the perfect place for it

Doubt the crime levels have stayed the same. With the introduction of the internet and mobile phones, crime in most areas has rocketed. Especially with the lack of Police thanks to Tory cuts.
Free entry with no queues.
However you may be detained trying to leave the scene.

You might actually see a policeman
They close police stations but they keep this place open.
Lots of villains in Manchester. Any of them in the museum ?
We need to go to a museum to see what the police used to do....
I'll have to go and visit.see how the police used to catch criminals and keep the peace 🚔 (police)

Did 20 in GMP. They are as bent as the day is long. Average cops are generslly great. Senior cops and command are utterly corrupt. One even had the job buy his house off him because he couldn't sell it. Even lied about the reason and now they are covering that up . Oh and he doctored evidence and lied after a member of the public was killed in his operation. #bent

Would that be the old coppers who beat confessions out of people? the whole thing is a joke they have no respect shown to them as they no longer engage with the so called community they are allegedly protecting, maybe because the only visible police presence is when a major incident occurs. Under funded and treated with the same contempt they show the public.

Of course the police are bent, they are human.
Maybe have a madame tussads section of stuffed criminals and a motor section of cars that have been nicked the most times. DIY section where visitors can try welding 2 halves of car together. How about a target range where visitors can fire confiscated guns at speed cameras and radar vans? Also execution X-factor where the public can vote on which crims get executed and then the competition winner gets to hit the red button. Have a hard labour section where u can see chain gangs actually working for their food, board and table tennis. Interactive criminal torture chambers where the crim runs through and visitors have to fire at them. I have many more ideas but have run out of time.........
