In Greece their feta is in their own hands......or ballot box tommorow.

We use this a lot - it compares well with lots of different Feta cheese we've tried. My wife lived and worked in Greece for some time so she is a bit of an expert and she ranks this as one of the best pre-packed Feta cheeses out there, apart from Dodoni. At this price it is superb value.

Really nice, i think ALDI are bringing down prices of key items as I've noticed supermarkets are price matching them on loads of stuff

you feta believe it

Bad quality, the taste was rancid when I tried it. The Aldi feta cheese sourced from the cheese emporium has been replaced recently by a lesser quality no frills version with 'everyday essential' plastered on it. Shame really, they had a nice product.

Waits for fishmaster to research what Feta cheese is, & then relate that to the comment I posted (with the exact wording I intended).

lidl has a better feta for the same value but hot

Heat added. Same price in Lidl but for a different brand (name escapes me)

I think you are confusing two different products. Aldi have a few different types of 'feta', the one in the deal here and at least 2 others I know of; 'Greek style Salad Cheese' or words to that effect, which is made in Germany, and a no-frills one which you mention. I haven't tried the other 2 but the one in the deal is more than OK.

Also, I'm pretty certain "The Cheese Emporium" you mention Aldi used to 'source' their feta from is just one of their made up brands they sell things under (a few months ago they started selling fruit under the "Nature's Fruit" brand, which always makes me laugh). It will probably be the same manufacturing plant supplying this, just in a different package. Just to clarify, I am not saying their 'no-frills' feta is the same as the one you bought under the CE brand.

EDIT: Are you confusing the Goat's Cheese Aldi sell with this Feta; again 2 different products.
