Why would people who like high quality music want the new Green Day album?

I do...... and I do.....

listened to it yesterday, 1 good song 2 are listenable the rest are for anyone born after nimrod. cold cause it's not worth £4.99. go buy the bang bang single

oh my dayS.

Picked it up yesterday for $4.99 pre order with the discount code the band tweeted.

This however is the best deal out there at the minute, therefore hot, anyone voting cold as they think they know more about music than others is an idiot.
It's a hot deal because of the price not your interpretation of the standard of the music

I have to grumpily agree.

Not liked an album since Nimrod, but love the odd song.

Uno! Dos! Tre! Was pretty enjoyable and I really enjoyed American Idiot.

Favourites are still Nimrod and Dookie though....

Oh dear. September is over. Wake up.

£10.99 is the 24bit hi-res. A MP3 is 16bit. can you hear the difference? Probably. I tend to play Green Day very very loud when I can.

difference between 16bit and 24bit is 48dB of dynamic range

Just shows how musical opinions differ. I like the single Revolution Radio, started to grow on me rapidly after the 2nd listen. I just cannot stand Bang Bang though (and I've been a Green Day fan for over 20 years).

1039/ smoothed out slappy hours, kerplunk and insomniac too. Insominiac being near the top IMO.

Is there any chance a mod can put an apostrophe in the title as it's doing my nut in.

I didn't like Bang Bang on a first listen, but it definitely has grown on me! Revolution Radio is a good song.
I like this as an album, definitely a step up front Uno Dos and Tre, but not quite the standard of American Idiot in "modern" Green Day terms! Insomniac still wins for me!! :-)

I got the version with the red vinyl, it's a good album and well worth £4.99 imo.

Ohh and dookie is my favourite, I have been a fan for over 20 years

Super album. Some real gems on here.

Huge Green Day fan of many years here. Personal fave album is Insomniac. Still don't quite know what to make of this album, hoping it might be a grower.

Didn't mind the trilogy for what it's worth, probably could have consolidated the good stuff down to one disc, though. In fact, I found the far less polished "Demolicious" to be far better, with a cracking raw sound and sounded far more punk rock.

Anyway, Bang Bang is alright, decent enough. Revolution Radio is a great track which I'd rate higher that Bang Bang. The solo in RR is class, love the pinch harmonic, Jason White really is a superb addition to the band. I don't like Say Goodbye which frankly sounds too Fallout Boy for my liking. A lot of the album just seems a little forgettable after the first two listens, I hope that changes in time.

Gutted about the tickets being so expensive and the venues being so far away from Swansea. Seen them every UK tour, sometimes multiple times, for the last 16 years however decided to give it a miss this time with the tickets above £70.

I do get odd looks when I still passionately defend Green Day as still being a great band as people love to rag on them for being sellouts, losing the way and not being punk rock and all that garbage, they're still an awesome band though. I think some people just wanted 6 carbon copies of Dookie in the subsequent years after its release.

Anyway, fan for life here. Heat.

Usual story; change and you're damned by those who only liked one album, stay the same and be accused of sounding boring. Same thing happened to Pearl Jam.

Heat added because its a good price, and even if I don't rate the album its would be silly to vote cold on something like music which is subjective.

Insomniac is very underrated imo.

Just listened to a few of the new tracks, sounds incredibly overproduced.

As long as the music is good then bands can get away with it, but there's not many groups that can go on and on, album after album churning the same stuff out without calling time at the riff bank. Point in case, greenday. How many bands continue to make music as good as their early peaks years later? Pink Floyd, Maybe radiohead off the top of my head and that's because they changed.

I tried that yesterday, haven't tried any for years, wtf is wrong with the stuff now, OK well I know what's wrong, the ratio of THC:CBD is heavily weighted in favour of THC. Side effects including anxiety, paranoia and vomiting and generally falling over a lot.

The UK has also stopped sales of CBD products in the UK, so within 28 days of the order all sellers on Amazon and other sites will have to stop selling CBD based products until they can certify their products.

Voted hot as its a good deal, but after two listens its an instantly forgettable album.

You'd have to be an (American) idiot not to pick up this deal

Lol fair point, on the whole though it's usually below Dookie on most people's lists!

Don't get me wrong, I love Dookie. I'd say my top 3 probably go Insomniac -> Nimrod -> Dookie...

Insomniac's up top for me probably because I play bass and I think as an album it's probably got my favourite Dirnty bass lines and fills.

I've always liked it, it's probably my favourite thinking about it. An old girlfriend cried one Christmas because it wasn't "anything like Dookie" which she loved. I hope she's seen the light now, '86' and the 'Brainstew/Jaded' combo are the tits.

Totally. They can't stay the same forever, imagine being in a band for approaching 30 years writing, recording and performing nearly the exact same tunes over and over. You'd lose your minds. The amount of vitriolic hatred that was spewed when American Idiot was released, for example, was mental. I think it's just fans being bitter that Green Day were back in the mainstream after the relatively quiet "Warning" years until 2004 when American Idiot came out. American Idiot was a genius album though.

I will say - as much as I adore the band - there is one song I loathe. That I'd genuinely be content with never hearing again.

21 Guns. My god it's a steaming pile of turd of a track and the autotune in it was foul!

Still no love for Kerplunk? It's the first album I heard from them, before Dookie exploded, and it's got their raw energy and cheekiness all over.

I love '86, and I'm not sure why. It wasn't a single or anything, just something about it resonated with the teenage me. The best song he's ever written/co-written is still this though.
