Review

Stand your ground.

Expelled, unfairly, from Harvard, Matt Buckner (Elijah Wood) flees to England to his sister (Claire Forlani). Once there, he is befriended by her charming and dangerous brother-in-law, Pete Dunham (Charlie Hunnam), and introduced to the underworld of British football hooliganism. Matt learns to stand his ground through a friendship that develops against the backdrop of his street and often violent world. Green Street is a story of loyalty, trust and the sometimes brutal consequences of living close to the edge.

Best film of it's genre.....and at £2.99 an absolute bargain

Worth 2.99 just to see the 'main' characters dodgy accent

take it you aint seen 'the firm' or' football factory' then?

a bit too hollywood for me.....

wat a load of codswollop.its pure ramel, really bad acting and casting,i couldnt belive my eyes when i seen that little dweeb out of lord of the rings....major mistake, woman director on football ... ??? ,if you want a good football hooligan film watch id or football factory...

This film is really REALLY bad, it's like some terribly misguided ITV drama or something. Elijah Wood is miscast and the story is terrible.

The best thing about it (apart from when it ends and it's finally over!) is the Tommy Hatchet character and the guy who plays him....it's like they wrote it for Ray Winstone but couldn't get him so got some other guy who actually pulls it off rather well. Everyone else stinks the place up though!

This has been this price for ages.

I got it when it was the same price a year ago and its still in its wrapper on my shelf.

Do yourself a favour and don't EVER open it

could never understand why a documentry about rangers fans in manchester was called "green street" ;-)

Makes you wonder who's actually in charge of the controls when the lead characters accent is so far off it's untrue. Surely someone in the myriad of casting, general production staff etc etc could see (and hear lol) that something was way off! It completely dispels and sense of reality from the get offset - and then the rest of the film sux real bad too. Infact I've seen a better film on my Grandma's tea.

Speaking as someone who regularly visits Green Street this film is just nonsense, maybe you get fans like it where you go to football but I sure the hell don't. Maybe there's a generation out there that doesn't go to football and think that this tripe is realistic - they can keep it that way for themselves.

Voted hot........

EDIT : forgot to say that there is at least one good thing about this film - it's called Claire Forlani hubba hubba :-D

Worst football film of all time, AVOID AT ALL COSTS. If you want quality, check out I.D., THE best football film of all time!

How come it got better scores on IMDB than I.D and F.F then?

I absolutely LOVED this movie and thought it was just brilliant. I honestly can not see why people here hate it so much.

Im forever blowing bubbles...
Pretty bubbles in the air..
They fly so high..
They reach the sky..
And like my dreams they fade and die..

I really enjoyed watching this film, purely because of how bad it was.

I love films in that genre but that was the worst I have seen to date!. A film called Gobsh**e was pretty awful too!

Very average film, the only saving grace for this film id the Brilliant Marc Warren is in it but sadly just in a supporting role,

Good football film.

ID for me everytime. This rather sad genre is saved by ID, the rest tend towards sentimentalism. Any 'terrace' characters I know mostly need to be locked up for mental health issues of an anti-social nature - hardly any redeeming characteristics and terrible personal hygiene problems, no long coach journeys for me no more.

Terrible film, and thats coming from a West Ham fan who normally likes anything to do with West Ham being on Telly/Cinema.

Only reason i purchased it was because i was at Upton Park when it was being filmed, giving Elijah grief was pretty amusing though....

'The firm' with Gary Oldman in is probably the oldest of the lot yet its the best i'd say dont think it ever got a cinema release, well worth watching for anyone who hasnt seen it.

Very good film, can't help but take it seriously seeing Micky Pearce (from Only Fools & Horses) trying to play the hard man....
