This is a fantastic price for what is the best vegan cheese out there, thanks for posting.

Have you tried the Vitalite cheese? How does this compare?

I've yet to try that one, although I rate Green Vie as better than Sheese, Koko, Violife, the revered Applewood (which was a huge disappointment) and any home-made recipe, be it cashew or coconut-based. As it happens about 10 minutes after replying to this post my latest order from Alternative Stores arrived, containing 2kg of Green Vie grated!

Not tried this one, but the bar is stupendously low

Absolutely, the advances in foodstuffs without the murder have been awesome over the past couple of years; some of the seitan tastes just like the pig, but without the suffering, environmental impact or carcinogens.

Vegan cheese tastes crap.. I mean awful... This is from a lifelong vegan who loved and still love the taste of cheese.

Home made vegan cheeses taste 1000000% better than any shop cheese I've tasted.

I use nutritional yeast, miso paste, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, apple cider vinegar, blend into soaked cashew nuts and taste for tangyness and saltiness , basically the signiture flavours of cheese.
Experiment as you go along.. for something that you can make in minutes it's amazing.
Can also blend with vegan yogurt instead of water for more flavour!.
If it is not from milk then it is not cheese
I've expired this deal - having tried the slices they're not worth 89p. Virtually tasteless.
