I would be surprised if the developer knows what is GDPR and its implications. And it is probably the reality for a vast majority of corporate employees in Europe itself.

GDPR is not difficult to comply with, as long as you're not doing anything malicious with user data

For an app like this, no data should be uploaded, it should all remain on-device, and tracking should be explicit opt-in, most advertising and analytics platforms provide easy APIs for this, it's down to the developer to enable them though
