These are a lovely, spicy sausage roll and I for one thank Greggs/Iceland for thinking of the environment by helping us cut down on the amount of meat we eat

How much meat do you want a sausage roll to have?

Most sausage rolls are around 20% and I've never found a Gregg's sausage roll lacking.

I wouldn't know as I don't buy them but 20% meat content does seem a little low.
IMO they used to be better, but are now over-priced. Unbelievably, they only require 6% meat content according to this minimum percent of meat - Gov.uk

Always a slight hope the image is of greggs vegan sausage roll but unfortunately they still haven't released frozen version. But yeah I totally get what you're saying lol

Sounds like you hardly got to first base
TBF I've been looking for a decent replacement to the Ashers Sausages rolls I used to get in Tesco, the new Ashers replacements feel like they made out of cardboard.

Tried these a few weeks ago and I was week impressed.

Heat added
I wonder if the other 80% is wobbly gristle like in their steak bakes. I used to love those, wouldn't touch them with a barge pole now.
I like them, and it's nice to be able to cook them at home so you can cook them to your own taste,so many times I have had to wait in Greggs for the sausage rolls in the oven, the guy looks in the oven and they look fine but he says they need another 5 minutes but when he eventually gets them out they are all over done

No, you misunderstand - the wobbly gristle is part of the pork so the sausage roll cannot have more than 20% ...wobbly gristle
Yeah, does mean that the sausage is only 20% meat, which does seem bit low. Or the whole sausage roll, including the pastry bit, which maybe isn't so bad. They taste alright so I guess that's a bonus. Quite like the cheese pizza slices too, but I don't think Iceland do those.
