Quite possibly, but I figured I'd post this as it's a bit more specific than "Fresh Whole Duck currently Half Price @ A Store Somewhere Near You Hopefully" :roll:

Had one of these for £6 from the co op last time they were on offer - wasn't impressed overall. But would have been a lot more annoyed if I had paid £12 :viking: Get 2 chickens for £6 instead is my advice......:thumbsup:

Still - its a hot deal if you must have duck, so voted hot

I normally use a dry rub, spices and plenty of salt, then let it sit for a few hours. If the weathers good it's straight on the BBQ with a half can of beer inserted where the sun don't shine. I stand it on it's legs and the beer can, cover with a large pot, or close the BBQ cover if i'm not cooking anything else, and roast for about an 1 1/2 hours. I make sure I prick it all over every half hour or so to drain the fat off, and crank up the temp for the last 20mins or so to crisp the skin.

Sadly it's not BBQ weather here tonight so the oven will have to do. Try it with the beer can if you haven't before, it makes for a super moist bird, it's steamed from the inside with beer, while being roasted from the outside at the same time, works well with chicken too.

A whole can which has been half emptied, one of the perks of doing the cooking, give it a whirl they taste great :thumbsup:

Do a search on Youtube for Ken Hom Peking Duck. It's a 3 part video on the BBC channel. I used this recipe and it was lovely. making my own pancakes was fun.. messed a few up but got the hang of it by the end... they need to be very thin!

oh and yes.. a proper Pekin duck would be better to make Peking duck (or Crispy duck).

:thumbsup: +1 A friend of mine does this - really great way to barbeque chicken. Can thoroughly recommend.

Never tried duck on the bbq; always thought it would be too fatty and there'd be loads of flames, so if I was going to I'd probably pre-ccok in an oven and drain off fat then finish off for last 30-40 mins on a hot bbq.
