Griffin car charger kit at Poundland for...£1

67
Found 19th Feb 2016
I found this in Poundland Salisbury where there is a shelf of about 40 of these.
The box contains a:
- Power Jolt Mini (10 watts - 5 volts@ 2.1amps) that fits in a car cigarette lighter
- USB to micro-USB cable that's 3'
- AUX cable (3.5mm) that's 3'
- Apple certified (Made for i-etc) micro-USB to Apple Dock Connector (old style)

I thought that it was a lot of kit for a £1. I've paid a £1 for a mediocre AUX cable in Poundland before. Hope it helps a few of you.

sweet, been looking for something to charge my griffin, have some heat
great price if its genuine
Avoid cheap poundland cables and chargers if you want to save your phones charging ports and batteries. My recommendation is buy Anker/Aukey kind of chargers and cables on Amazon. They are bit more expensive but worth every peny.
Many would rate Griffin higher than Anker
Just rang all Nottingham ones no stock to save someone a journey

Agreed - we've had nothing but trouble with bloody Apple chargers, for iPod/iPad/iPhone. Nightmare. It's like they KNOW, and they fight back against anything non-Apple..
Great! Will have a look out later I bought my mum a Griffin ipad Mini case a few weeks ago. I wouldn't put Griffin products on a par with the "Signalex" etc Poundland accessories!

Picture of the Griffin ipad case here: hotukdeals.com/dea…656
In the distribution world..Griffin tends to be the more premium product in terms of price and quality.

Hot from me.
Many Anker & Griffin products are Apple Certified and I do rate Anker very highly for quality.
Quality product bought a couple, About 30 left in Enfield.

These are not worth a pound! I had one it was so electrically noisy that it blocked DAB radio from functioning correctly! I threw mine in the bin once I worked out why I had such poor radio reception...

I bought an iPad case for my Dad, my daughter was so impressed I ended up getting her one as well. I would consider Griffin a quality product. Thanks OP, will keep an eye out for these.

It might have been a rogue one. I used mine in the car earlier (where I have a built-in DAB radio) and couldn't detect any interference.

These are in Poundland but they are good quality and worth far more than a quid.
Poundland doesn't always mean cheap rubbish, as my Belkin cables, adaptors etc that i've got from Poundland prove.

I wasn't getting interference (it's digital) what happened with mine was poor signal in general with regular dropouts. for example I could scan for stations with it inserted and would only get a few really strong ones. if I removed it I would get like 20 stations.

At the risk of sounding intentionality churlish, I think that would be classified as interference!
I've used Poundland Lightning cables with both my iPads and never had a problem. I had one come apart after extended use, but the rest have been fine.

This looks like a great deal for the price, will have to check my local branch. I still have an iPod with the old style dock connector, so even that will come in handy.

Just tried it again. I didn't do a new scan but all the DAB stations stored are available with the Griffin plugged in and working.
Heat, Yes it does help, Cheers

This is my 6th Anker charger last 4/5 years.. They may not be best but their customer service is the best
never had a issue with pound land usb cables for apple devices, just use them in the car i do and never had a issue.
None seen in my local. Perhaps store specific ad-Hoc stock
There's quite a lot in Huddersfield
I bet people would buy this in bulk and sell it on .. I would anyway if I own a shop ! haha
Bought iPhone chargers from Poundland and another pound shop but they were a fail. Worked hardly for a few weeks and I had to replace.

Recently I've found the pastel coloured lightning cables from the pound shops work fine (not the white ones, which either don't work at all or generate spurious messages from Uncle Apple).

Belkin used to be very good, but over the years they've been less and less so. They are more a kin to the type of premium cables suppliers, Yes their kit works but not well enough over others to be worth the premium.

That said at this price point its probably a lot better than the unbranded generic stuff in store..
Bought the car charger as a stand alone genuine from elsewhere a whileback barely trickle charged my mobile doubt it is 2.1A
I came here for a car charger.

So what you would say if poundland bought a load of Anker chargers and sold them, would you tell everyone not to buy them either?
None in the Southend store
Can this be used to charge an Iphone 5 in conjunction with a genuine lightening cable with it being 2.1a?

T
The Griffin iphone 4 cable I had, casing fell apart. Didn't stop working (although only a matter of time I suspect) but alas was some what dangerous to use due to sharp metal edges so chucked it away in the end.

It would seem the answer is yes. Griffin micro
Will my DAB radio continue to work. I'm yet to find a charger that doesn't ruin my reception

These ruined my reception!

I fitted a Bluesky USB in place of the 12v socket in the end. it works great and is 2 x 2.1a without radio interference, however it was £16 oO
I bought a Scosche Revolt C2 that was pricey at the time but didn't make my DAB reception worse.

There are an awful lot of fake versions of these Griffin ones very cheap on eBay.
